A dawn to see
New shoes for me
To walk the miles
A try to ween
A time to claim
An in between has arrived
An emptiness
A fake address
For me to hide
Where I've beens
It's kept me far
So far
To numb descents
To hush regrets
And wonder whys
Beggin cents
For craving arms
Isn't there something
Someone there
Who could please
Sell me, sell me
Just name the price
For some better days
To come my way
Ah, ah
All sorries sent
A cry wolf's spent
My kin and friends
Are moving on
Moving on
A trusting bent
An owed back rent
A chance to lend
Too far gone
Eyes of the past
Staring downward
Must you burn me, burn me
Like yesterday's sun
Before better days
Can come my way
And where do we go?
Where do we go from here?
Where do we go?
Where do we go from here?
A long way..
Hey...oh..yeah..
Ooooooooh..yeah
Hey..hey..hey..
-Solos-
Isn't there someone?
Someone there..ohh
Someone out there
Ohh
Come my way
Come my way
A yesterday
A memory lane
A guilty stain
On my hide
A father's way
A rebel's pain
Bought divide
A past to taint
Taint my whites, alright
God help me
Pour down your deep
Soul cleansing rain
And do wash me, wash me
Of all my sins for some better
Days to come my way
Now how much a longer
Will I have to pay
Now just take me, take me
Away from this hell debt forever
Some better days may be
And where do we go?
Where do we go from here?
And where do we go?
Where do we go from here?
And where do we go?
And where do we go from here?
And where do we go?
Where do we go from here?
A long to be
A dawn to see
New shoes for me
To walk the miles
The lyrics of Asheru & Blue Black's song "Better" depict a sense of longing and yearning for improvement and a fresh start. The first verse sets the tone with phrases like "A long to be, a dawn to see, new shoes for me, to walk the miles." This indicates a desire for progress and a readiness to leave behind the past.
The following lines suggest a struggle with internal conflicts and the need for change: "An emptiness, a fake address, for me to hide, where I've been. It's kept me far, so far." These lyrics reveal a sense of dissatisfaction and the urge to escape from negative experiences or emotions.
The chorus emphasizes the longing for improvement and a yearning for someone or something that can bring about positive change: "Isn't there something, someone there, who could please sell me, sell me, just name the price for some better days to come my way." The singer is searching for a solution, hoping for a transformation in their circumstances and a brighter future.
The song continues to explore themes of regret, moving on, trust, and redemption. The lyrics evoke a feeling of introspection and a yearning for personal growth. The repeated question, "Where do we go from here?" suggests a sense of uncertainty and the need to find a new path forward.
