You also have to take into account the differences in the mixing of the albums. The previous two had multiple screams at once. Ex. 1 Mid, 2 Highs, Lows, etc. without all of this layering it sounds A LOT different and in a way (IMO) it's better, because it just seems more natural, and easier to play live. I'm really proud of what this band has become and how much they have overcome. They're taking over the world.

I just saw them in concert recently, and his voice sounds very good live. He can scream the same way he did back in The Final Episode days. Sooo good live. Had a lot of fun!

I think that this is the album that they put their heart and soul in. Something like Cold and the Year of the Spider. Or Sevendust animosity. Both great albums and u can feel that they put everything they had into those albums. Great album.

Asking Alexandria even said that the purpose of the name 'From Death To Destiny' was rising from their days of addiction and being homeless to the life they have now. So yes, it's the truth. And liking the album? It's my opinion. If you don't like it, I'm not changing it for anyone, certainly not you. Sorry not sorry.

My all time favorite bands are Pantera, Kreator, Overkill, White Zombie, and Asphyx.
But then again, some of my other favourites are Asking Alexandria, Miss May I, Suicide Silence, and As I lay Dying.
I also thoroughly enjoy CCR, The Cars, Steve Miller Band, and the Eagles
I love music, all types of music, even a lot of "mainsteam" songs. "Metalheads" who preach so hard that every metal core band is fake music and you can only listen to underground bands and thrash/grind/groove/death/doom metal have less balls then bands they make fun of like this. All music is good music as long as you have a passion for it. And in my opinion, people with open minds and listen to all different genres have the real passion for music. But then again its trendy to make fun of the people who listen to metal core right? Good lord...

If you wish this album was a bit more hardcore like their old stuff, you gotta remember Danny tore his vocal chords pretty bad. Personally, I'm impressed by how his voice sounds & the overall maturity of the band.

Actually, while the band themselves were involved in a serious accident, none of them suffered any injuries. Danny's voice in this song is due to the fact that they recorded this album while touring, so he didn't have a chance to rest his voice for the record. Also, Danny had torn his vocal cords last year due to overuse without letting it rest, he strained it too much causing a it to become damaged. He still sounds amazing though!! Great Album!!

From Death seems like a very approachable album. I think I like this sound that they're trying out. It'll never replace Stand Up And Scream, of course, but it's a good listen all the same.

its not supposed to replace it, it's supposed to succeed it. it's a different and more advanced album that leans toward a more mature sound. most people who prefer the pop/rock/metalcore sound will prefer stand up and scream and most people who like hard rock/heavy metal will prefer this album

I think you misinterpreted what I was trying to say. I meant the album wouldn't replace SUAS for me, personally, due to the memories tied to it and what I was going through while getting acquainted with it. R&R is pretty damn good, too. I'm not all that familiar with it yet, though.

In all honesty this is better then other two yeah they don't do unclean vocals as much but it doesn't take away from the fact that they put a lot of themselves into the music! Which isn't that why you'd make music?

I'm actually happy they changed, I feel like there are redeemable qualities to their music now. Danny actually has a distinctive tone to his voice. Now they just need to add some more nuance and maybe shake up the song structures a bit and just in general add some subtle things to make the songs not so repetitive and they'll be quite alright. I've seen bands that I absolutely hate mature and evolve into things that I can actually appreciate and AA is now among them.

Actually, the "From Death To Destiny" has a 80's vibe to it, and Guns N' Roses were one of their main influence, also to mention they are a brilliant band and made it because of every member. Slash is an amazing guitarist, top ten but he didn't make GN'R. GN'R made themselves who they are. I believe you may want to check some things out first..

Change is good. This is the 4th song I have heard, and I've got to say, I am surprised at how much they have changed from their first album, to this. Still Same Asking Alexandria, but with a much more mature sound.

Don't get me wrong. I loved the older heavy stuff and I do miss it. But on the other hand I really like this new stuff too. The thing is Danny always preferred the old 80s kind of music. So he kind of aimed for an 80s aproach to the new album. And I definetly adore the vocals. But one thing that does bother me is that the guitars have not changed AT ALL xD. Ben and Cam are still slammin them chugs :P

Danny said in one of his interviews that they dont want to make same album 3x in a row, since SUAS and R&R are pretty much the same with the sounds they wanted to make something new and this album is great just like the rest of the songs/albums

I personally love the songs where there is break downs all through out the song lol..

As a musician.. I loved listening to their older stuff cause it was different (to me at least).. going to their shows and just ripping it up.

I dont like how soft it is now.. but to each is own.
