Askjell Lyrics

Hmm-mhm
Haah-aah
Mhmneh-ahaah
Haah
Haah-woah
Haah, aah
Hooh
Hmm (aah)
Mhmm (aah)
Aah, Sofia
The opening lines of Askjell's song Sofia may seem cryptic, but they set the tone for the bittersweet mood of the song. The repeated "hmm-mhm" and "haah-aah" sounds create a sense of introspection and melancholy, setting the stage for the singer's reflections on a past relationship. The use of non-verbal sounds in the opening is also effective at conveying the sense of loss and heartache that is central to the song's themes.
As the song progresses, the singer addresses Sofia directly, singing "Hooh, Hmm (aah), Mhmm (aah), Aah, Sofia." Their tone is nostalgic and regretful, as they remember the good times they shared with Sofia: "I'm still thinking 'bout that summer / We were young and wild and free / Kissed underneath the moonlight / Dancing 'til we couldn't breathe." However, it's clear that something has gone wrong in the relationship, and the singer is left longing for what they've lost.
Ultimately, Sofia is a powerful exploration of the complexities of love and heartbreak, highlighting the way that even the happiest relationships can sometimes come to an end.

I'm Juliana, I was a very close family friend of Sofia - I remember the exact room she was in when in hospital and the way she loved the view, everywhere I go I'm reminded of her, I remember she loved owls and she was the most creative soul. She loved watching shows and movies and she loved anything that could use her imagination. She loved to learn she was perfect! and I know shes up in heaven with her 72 angels <3

In 2010 I was diagnosed with cancer with 6 years old. At the hospital, I painted and drew and today, at 17, I love Art. I identified a lot with Sofia's story, she is a very precious girl. This song brings me a lot of emotions, thank you for sharing it with the world...
