I never felt safer in this world, than when I had my precious, goofy, gentle, Loving, sweet 125 lb pitbull.

No one messed with me, & I could tell their intentions, just by how people responded to my dog.

And, I absolutely trusted how HE responded to people.

Even now, with my 35 lb beagle, I feel safer than without him, because he is an indomitable alarm system.

No rabbit comes in my yard, at 3 am, without 5 blocks knowing about it. 🤣

He may not be the protector that my sweet pittie is, but he lets me know when I need to take protective measures myself.

And, I think he could tear someone up pretty badly, if someone tried to hurt me.

And, I absolutely trust his analyses & responses to people

He is very friendly & loving, gentle, & sweet.

But, one time...

I was in a parking lot, pretty alone, at night, & a man said "oh! Can I pet your dog?"

My first thought was about how Ted Bundy used ploys to get women close to him, to then abduct them (& we all know what he did after that 💔).

Ignoring that gut-response, LIKE AN IDIOT, I said "sure" & walked over to him.

But, not too close.

My very friendly, very sweet dog would not let the man touch him, growled, barked, dodged him, & refused to get close.

HE HAS NEVER RESPONDED TO ANYONE THAT WAY, IN THE 3 YEARS+ THAT I HAVE HAD HIM, & RAISED HIM FROM A TINY PUP.

NEVER!!!

I knew it was TIME TO GO, & GO FAST!

I don't remember what I said.
I was polite, but got the hell out of there as quickly as I could, by the GRACE OF GOD & DOG.

*DOGS KNOW.*

I knew.

Ted Bundy did not come to my mind for nothing.

I should have said "I'm sorry, he is not very friendly" & got out immediately.

Thankfully, I was ok anyway, even though I broke MY OWN CARDINAL RULE, which is ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION TO THE PROMPTINGS OF HOLY SPIRIT & ACT ON THEM.

Spirit was telling me that man was not safe.
God was telling me.

But, my need to be "friendly & polite" overrode my defenses.

I am trying to integrate that lesson & take it to heart.

Thankfully, I did not end up like Bundy's victims.
I pray that no one else has either.

I am going to listen to Spirit, & my Guardian Angel Dog!

10,000 steps actually started as part of the marketing campaign for a Japanese pedometer in the early 1960's. It's name, in English, was "10,000 Steps Meter". I have been "told" that the character for 10,000 looks like a person walking and that's why the number was chosen. Trainers and Doctors (I am neither) picked up on it and kept repeating it as if there was a medical basis for the number. Studies, being studies, are all over the place, but the consensus seems to be that health benefits drop off after 7,000 steps a day. That being said, just do as much as you can. If it takes 10,000 steps to explore your neighborhood, then that is what it takes. I lost 80+ pounds with walking and diet. The more I walked the more I lost. Then I got lazy and stopped and I am right back where I started.

I walk my neighborhood everyday with my australian shepherd. I can't believe only about 10% of people have cameras. I have grown to love this channel and all the great info Jason gives out. The man is doing God's work. Hope saving my live one day with all these tips and tricks.

After I spent nine years in the military I came out of the military and they diagnosed me with high blood pressure high cholesterol acid reflux chronic knee pain and type-2 diabetes and I was like 270 lb. I got out got me a couple dogs and And ive been walking 5 miles a day since 2003. But doing so I got rid of all them problems also eating right

I really need to laugh, because this is something I've done for years now.
I work Private Security, No not turn key fire watch security. I've given lesson to other Security Officers and told them all to watch your area, see who's doing what at what time.
I walk to work and home everyday, and I also will from time to time ride the bus. I watch people, cars, and trucks. I can tell you who is moving and if someone is out of place.
I found if you own a dog take that dog for a walk. People will see the dog and want to pet it. If your dog is cool with that let them, I get lots of information from people that otherwise wouldn't talk with me.

I travel and live abroad. I'm a big walker. Love it! I've lived and worked abroad for almost 25 years, most of the time in former USSR countries.Did the Camino de Santiago twice. One of the first things I do is go for a long walk around the area I'm in. In fact, it's my preferred method of transport. No better way to get to know your area and surroundings. The exercise is a bonus, not the other way around. Good video. Thank you....

I just found your channel,and it's so good to see so many practical tools to defend and take care of ourselves. Observation is a main point,develop consciousness and focus all the time. The world has become a very dangerous world,everyday is worse,so what you do is an extraordinary help. I will like to see more ways of defense for women,I was gang raped once when I was very young,I also almost got killed once, I'm an RN,I went to visit Madrid and the typical "caves" downtown,places where you drink wine and have some typical foods,there I met a guy very well dressed, with suit and tie,very good manners,and he started talking with me, very polite conversation,not like hitting on me, he asked me what I was doing in Madrid and I told him doing tourism,he asked me about my profession and I told him,so he said " oh I'm a doctor,a pediatrician I came here for a Congress of doctors, so I felt very safe we both were in the medical profesión, and he wasn't flirting with me at all, after a while he asked me about what music I liked and I told him several styles one of them samba from Brazil,and he told me he rented and apartament for that week and he love samba too,and if I wanted we could go to listen some samba at his apartament ( I know here I was stupid) so I said yes. We got a cab and we went to the apartament , and once inside he inmediatly pushed me inside a room with a bed and pushed me to the bed,and he jumped on top of me,all was very fast, I was fighting hard knowing he wanted to rape me, so he got tired of fighting me and turned me face down an put a pillow over my head pressing hard so I couldn't breath, I knew he was going to kill me, so I still was moving my legs ,but my brain told me to stop moving and make believe I was dead,so that's what I did,he kept pressing the pillow on my head against the bed for a while,and suddenly he stopped after seeing I wasn't moving at all, this is when I jumped out of the bed screaming " he want to kill me,he want to kill me,.." non stop screaming, then a guy came out of a room asking what happens and I went out of the door running down the stairs still screaming,I went to the street ,it was nightime already,and I saw a phone booth and called the police, I didn't knew the address but gave them some clues about what I was seeing around me, and in a little while the patrol car arrived,I went back with the police to the apartament but the guy was gone,they took the other guy and me to the police station for interrogation and afterwards they told me to go. I got a cab and went to my hotel ,I couldn't believe I survived. The attacker told me he was from Cuba while we were talking at the cave. I was in my twenties and always been very naive,so I learned my lesson,although I think I was saved by Gods Grace,because many other girls/women arent so lucky. The story of the gang rape is interesting too but it will be too long to explain it here. I carry since then a pepper spray with me. But specially I trust God to save me. Anyway, please give us women some tips to save ourselves from predators. Thank you Jason. God Bless you for this wonderfull job you do in your channel helping people.

Great advice, if you are young and vibrant and not an old 77 yo coot like me. Wish I would have started it years ago. I do try to walk 15 mins a day but my knees scream at me, lol. Take my advice and start young.

I just found your channel & been binging your videos. Thanks for the great content. One thing that could take it to the next level is a good mic. I’m sure you’ve been planning on it though. The echo in the videos makes it tough to hear or understand sometimes. They have some good Bluetooth lapel mics that would work great.

I was at a family Thanks Giving dinner last year & all enjoyed a great meal, here in So Cal. I have two Aunts, both sisters, 1 in shape and the other grossly out of shape. One says to the other, "Hey I'm going to walk off this meal!" The other (the in shape 1), replies, "Call me when you get to CO!" Yeah, true story! Lol😅

Tip: you really need a body microphone for your videos. You have good content, but there is a lot of hall noise, because camera microphone captures everything arround. And it's makes it harder to follow you. A body mike would make a world of difference.
