Bjurren and Bonnie started Cosa Nostra, Micke joined Strebers and Ernie started NEIN together with members of Rolands Gosskör.
In 1989 the band was reunited and played a few gigs, but then went dormant until 1992 when they played at Rosa Honung's ten year jubilee. Then the band went quiet again until 2003 when they started touring again as a "revenge" for all the unfairness they've been put through. The drummer, Bjurre, quit the band in late 2004 to focuson his other bands Frost and Deny, and was replaced by Dadde (of Wolfbrigade). During 2005 a conflict with Rosa Honung that had been growing for many years reached a point where the band could no longer work with the label so they signed a deal with Burning Heart Records. In April 2006 Asta kask recorded their first new album in 20 years.

The lyrics to Asta Kask's song "Fri" express a sentiment of detached individualism and not conforming to societal expectations. The singer looks around at the world they live in and sees everyone striving for their own goals and trying to reach them. Some want to become something while others want to achieve specific things but only a few will actually succeed. The singer, however, does not care about what is expected of them and does not interfere with the pursuits of others. The only thing they desire is freedom.
The lyrics then shift the focus to those who are fighting tirelessly to climb the societal ladder and attain wealth and power. They are constantly pushing and tearing to get ahead, striving for the highest rung on the ladder, but the singer cannot understand this constant struggle. They are content with their own place in life and just want to be free.
Overall, the song's message is one of rejecting societal pressure and focusing on personal freedom. It encourages the listener to not get caught up in the rat race and strive to be truly free.
