Candy
Astors The Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Have you seen my girl
Gee, whiz
She's out of this world
She's got lips so sweet
Candy red
Honey bees flying all
Candy, Candy
Ooh, wee
She's got a heart so warm
Ooh, wee
She's like a lucky charm
She's got eyes so bright
Sky blue
A voice so soft
Just like a morning dew
She's just a lump of sugar
And sweetened my tea
And one of these days
She's gonna marry me
Gee, whiz
She's got everything
Gee, whiz
She should be a queen
She's got a loving heart
Gold pure
One of these days
I'll make her mine
I'm sure
Candy, Candy
Candy, Candy

Fantastic !!! The "Astors" really tear it up with this one. The basic back and forth rythym is timeless pop, but no one should touch this cut today, they will only discredit it's simple vibe. The Astors were part of train load of classy well dressed , sexy vocal groups that blew up the radio stations in the mid-Sixties. Thank God for music like this , the pulse and joy that was put into that period will never return. ♥️☮️🎶

Was looking for this song online for about a year and this time it came up. An obscure oldie that's really great for dancing.

Although I knew the name of the song, I didn't know the name of the group and spent hours looking for it. I fell upon the Google option to sing the song into the mike- Google identified it! amazing

I can remember listening to this song on WIBG in Philly circa 1965 around the time that Candy and the Kisses were recording "The 81" and a few years before the Ethics sung "Think about Tomorrow." Joe Niagara, "the rockin' bird" would play it or maybe Hi Lit or Jerry Stevens. Magnificent!
