After its start in 1997 with Astrud EP, three albums (Mi fracaso personal, Gran fuerza and Performance), one b-sides album (Algo cambió: Caras B y rarezas 1996–2005) and many collaborations with other artists, Astrud has been continuously evolving in its sound, whether they want to sound techno-pop, orchestral, rock or whatsoever. Daily living scenes and intelligence are always present in their lyrics.
On top of that, their attitude and image have turn them into some kind of pop icons in the spanish alternative scene.
Their last album, Tú no existes was released in April 2007.

Astrud Lyrics

The lyrics to Astrud's song "CD" depict a narrative of a lover creating a mix CD for their significant other. The CD is intended to be played when they are apart and serves as a compilation that reminds the listener of their shared experiences. The first two songs on the CD are nostalgic and enjoyable for the listener. The third song, however, is a bit long and the fourth song, which has been played repeatedly, has become tiresome.
The following songs bring up other emotions, such as frustration and anger in the fifth and sixth song, respectively. The seventh song depicts the significant other forgiving the singer, however, the eighth song serves as the final straw that falls into place. The lyrics suggest that these specific songs were chosen purposefully to explain the complex emotions and situations between the singer and their significant other. However, the singer realizes halfway through the song that explaining everything with just a few lyrics would have sufficed.
Overall, the song "CD" portrays the universal experience of using music to express emotions and share memories with loved ones. The lyrics exemplify the desire to connect with a significant other through means of nostalgia and thoughtful gestures such as creating a personalized mixtape.
