After signing with AFM Records in 2002, the band then released "Only Human" before touring Europe with Rhapsody and Angel Dust.
Singer Oliver Hartmann then left the band and a replacement was found in former Yngwie Malmsteen singer Mats Leven.
Lenk spent the next few months writing 2003's album “The Evil In You”. A tour with Kamelot followed. After that, "Chained" was released in 2005 and secured chart entries in Scandinavia. The band then toured with Brainstorm and Mercenary. Mats Leven is no longer a member of At Vance and was replaced by Rick Altzi for their newest album, VII.

At Vance Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I try to reach for you but you have closed your mind.
Whatever happened to our love ?
I wish I understood.
It used to be so nice, it used to be so good.
So when you're near me, darling can't you hear me, SOS
The love you gave me, nothing less can save me, SOS
When you're gone, though I try how can I carry on ?
You seem so far away though you are standing near.
You make me feel alive but something died, I fear.
I really tried to make it up - I wish I understood.
What happened to our love, it used to be so good
These lyrics to At Vance's "S.O.S." speak to a sense of loss and confusion surrounding a deteriorated relationship. The singer is longing for the return of happy times and love, which have become difficult to find due to a sense of emotional distance from their partner. They have tried to reach out and make things work, but their efforts have been met with resistance and a closed off mind on the part of their partner. The singer muses on what happened to their love that used to be so nice and good, wishing for a better understanding.
The chorus of the song, which is repeated twice throughout the lyrics, features a cry for help through the Morse code signal "S.O.S." The singer is struggling to carry on without the love of their partner, feeling lost and alone when they are gone. Even when their partner is physically present, there is a disconnection that leaves the singer feeling like they are reaching out from a distance. There is a sense of mourning for what was lost within the relationship, heightening the feeling of desperation in the chorus.
