Twelve Stars and an Azure Gown
Atlantean Kodex Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A maiden by the seaside was taken from her land
On a bull across the waves until she reached a foreign strand
Her father, a great king, less human than divine
True godhood she would find - Twelve stars in azure skies

Stronghold walls of Uruk, Etemanaki′s fane
Mighty rock of Zion your legacy remains
Aeneas left his mother Troy, summer birds search for new lands
The goddess sends her siren's call, across the continents

On a strong white bull, the goddess rides
In the darkest night twelve stars will rise
Daughter of the east with an azure gown
Our new Jerusalem we found

And I saw brothers fighting, not for honour but for gold
Enthralled by foreign agents like cattle we are sold
Oh goddess grant me an answer! Pray, make me understand!
Will the brothers fight forever? Can they be as one again?

The goddess speaks:
"My son. War is forever. He′s the father of all men
But brothers once united will stand as one again
My touch was felt in Dublin, my voice was heard in Spain
Ten thousand years may pass by, but this fortress shall remain"

There are shadows over Athens and Rome still lies in flames
In these days when need is great, there's no heroes there's no saints

But when the night is darkest, Prometheus′ torch will burn
And the goddess on a white bull - though she never left - returns

Overall Meaning

The song "Twelve Stars and an Azure Gown" by Atlantean Kodex is a lyrical masterpiece that has different interpretations based on the listener's perspective. On the surface, the song speaks about a maiden taken from her land by the seaside, riding a bull across the waves until she landed in a foreign land. She comes from a royal lineage, and her father was less human than divine. The lyrics suggest that the maiden would find true godhood by searching for twelve stars in azure skies. The song also speaks about the strength of landmarks like the stronghold walls of Uruk and Etemanaki's fane and the mighty rock of Zion.

The song's deeper interpretation speaks about the goddess, Europa, who is a symbol of European unity in classical mythology. Europa received her name because of her strength, beauty, and charisma. The song speaks about Europa's journey, who rides a bull, a beast that symbolizes power and fertility, and how she reaches a foreign land. The lyrics symbolize the unity of the European continent, which was divided by numerous wars and conflicts. Even though there were constant battles, the song suggests that the goddess promises that the brothers will unite, and it's only a matter of time.

Overall, the song "Twelve Stars and an Azure Gown" speaks about the history of Europe, of how the continent was divided by wars and conflicts, but there is still hope for unity. The song encourages the listeners to remain hopeful even when the situation is bleak.

It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to this song. It's a love song for Europe and our heritage which I find is worth defending against all sorts of extremist. It's beautiful to hear something encouraging for us europeans. Thanks to the Kodex🤘👑

This song (and album) is my new bible !
I can't get enough from this masterpiece .. lyrics, harmonies, everything is "overfuckingperfected".
Those strange, occult feeling that's emanating from Winston Churchill's speech ..
Man, i just love that "Magickal" atmosphere ..
Plus Quam Perfectum - Hail to thee Atlantean Kodex !
ქალღმერთო შენ გვიშველე, დიდება შენს მადლს.
I wish to speak about the tragedy of Europe ...

@dibble hey there, can you provide some of those interview you talked about in that last comment? I know it's from 2 years ago, but I thought to give it a shot anyway :D I'll also try to search them for myself, since I just recently stumbled on this band. As for me, I'm just curious, and I don't "want them to be" anything. If this is meant to be an anthem to the European Union as it stands, I'd just disagree with them, and still enjoy the music, since -- as a listener, I think I'm entitled to that :)

dibble

dude just accept atlantean kodex are not the crypto-nazi, apoliteic pseudo-intellectual band you want them to be, read their interviews.

dibble

what does "artistically used" mean, though, please specify. and why do you think that quote from Jesus in Revelations 3:9 should be interpreted in an ethnic context? he also said "salvation is of the jews" you know

dibble

plus esotericism is utter bullshit. i dunno how i am not supposed to take the lyrics at face value while you think of it as something worth "being well-versed" in
