The band was formed under the name of A-180 by Mark Stuart, Barry Blair, and Will McGinnis. (As of 2005, Stuart and McGinnis were the only remaining original members.) The three men, along with Ron Gibson and Mark's brother, David, became a popular local band—booked by the school nearly every weekend.
The band's big break would come in the form of Bob Herdman. Bob went up to Audio Adrenaline with two songs he had written, "My God" and "DC-10". After "My God" was recorded—under the band name Herdman had created, "Audio Adrenaline"—it was sent to radio stations and scaled the charts quickly. Forefront Records decided to offer a record deal to A-180 but had them change their name to Audio Adrenaline. Bob joined the band, and David left to focus on his family.
in 2007 it was announced that Audio Adrenaline, after over 10 years as a band, had decided to call it quits. The Reason given was that lead vocalist, Mark Stuart, is having "ongoing vocal challenges". Their final album appropriately titled 'Adios' was released 1 August 2006. The band was to play their final show on April 28, 2007 at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii. At least that was the plan. But when their steadfast fans just couldn't let them go there, Audio Adrenaline extended their tour with MercyMe and came back to the mainland, playing their final shows in Spokane Washington and a few other cities on the west coast.
The Kings and Queens Songfacts reports that In 2012 Audio Adrenaline reformed with an altered line-up after a five year hiatus. Original bassist Will McGinniss continues as a member of the re-formed band while co-founder Mark Stuart, although stepping down as lead vocalist due to ill health, is very much a part of band decisions and contributes to the songwriting. Taking over lead vocals is Kevin Max, formerly of DC Talk, while CCM mainstays Dave Ghazarian (Superchick) is on guitar, Jared Byers (Bleach) is the band’s drummer, and singer-songwriter Jason Walker plays keys. "Kings and Queens" is the first single released by the new line-up. They released the album Kings and Queens on march 3rd 2013.
Mark Stuart is also married to the sister of Toby Mckeehan
The Answer
Audio Adrenaline Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I don’t need a big, big house, a new job with the same benefits
It’s a crystal ship but she’s sinking quick
Now my life’s a mess and I want to change it
[Chorus]
And when I rise and when I fall
You are the answer
I know it’s true cause I’ve tried it all
You are the answer
I can’t believe how I feel, is this for real?
Now that I’m changing, you never know how far this could go
A new hope, some story arranging
It’s a new sunrise through my newborn eyes
'Cause I found the way, the truth, the life
[Chorus x2]
Lights come out, it’s a brand new start
Old illusions seem to fall apart
Every day we’re making history
Never the same as we used to be
Flesh and bone, heart and soul
Hard drive, upload, reinstalled
A new sunrise with these newborn eyes
I found the way, the truth, the life
[Chorus x2]
Yes, You are the answer
In Audio Adrenaline's song The Answer, the singer declares that he is searching for something to make a significant difference in his life. He is feeling stuck, and nothing seems to be working out. He recognizes that his life is in shambles, and he needs a change. He has tried various things such as changing his appearance, finding new friends, using new drugs and even finding a new job, but nothing seems to work. He admits that all these things are like a crystal ship sinking fast. He is ready to work on himself and make a difference in his life. The singer finds hope and answers in the form of God. He acknowledges that God is the only solution to his problems, and with him, he can rise above his issues.
The chorus emphasizes that regardless of whether he is rising or falling, God is the answer. The singer found the way, the truth, and the life in him. The lyrics suggest that God is his source of strength and hope, and he acknowledges that it is true because he has tried it all. He further explains that everything has changed, and he sees the world differently through his newborn eyes, and he finds hope and answers in God. The song ends with the affirmation that God is, indeed, the answer.
