Hello, thanks for the tutorials, they're great, but i'm having a problem with this one
I'm only interested the spectrum 1 part, i do everything identical to you, but my rectangles aren't moving fluidly, they're just flickering in a pattern that sometimes resembles the original spectrum, completely unrelated to the music.
What am i missing? Is it something from a previous step that i skipped?

Thanks for this man, really appreciate your tutorials a lot! In the song part around 15:00 you can actually just put a "reorder" DAT right after convert DAT and put the columns on reverse, this will make the song be the first thing, and you can select the first column. This way it doesn't matter where the song is located :)

That's very clever, thanks!

To select the last item in the file path, use reorder to reverse the columns and then use select with index 0. Voila!

Hi Bileam! Just a little heads up. I believe you forgot to add this particular tutorial to your "TouchDesigner Tutorials" playlist. Thus, it jumps from item 32 "Virtual Projections (Prototyping) - Tutorial 32" to item 33 "3D Shape Subdivisions - Tutorial 34". It's just slightly jarring, and I just noticed it trying to properly sort my folders. It'd be a shame for this little tutorial to get lost in the immensity of Youtube, as it is yet another awesome piece of material. Taking this opportunity to thank you, thank you, thank you again for your consistently amazing content. I hope to one day wrap my head around TouchDesigner and be able to give back at least a little bit.

cool! to make it automatically select last column maybe u can reference End Col Index and put it into Start Col Index so that they're always equal

Here's a little expression to help with that title, it'll break with titles that have a "." in their name but you could always change the last split to be on like "mp3" or "wav" or whatever file youre working with.
str(op('audio_file').par.file).split("/")[-1].split(".")[0]

@bileam tschepe (elekktronaut) Could always change your Select DAT column index to: op('convert1').numCols - 1 to always select the last Column, to address the impact of folder structure change. Syntax may be off (don't have TD in front of me), but you get the idea.
bileam tschepe (elekktronaut)
Thanks! I discovered that after recording as well :)
