GOD
Audioweb Lyrics

The ........... is alive
But the conversation's dead
Words hit my ears
But the contents are empty
My eyes see the glory
Of the enlightening of the .......
Yes, I wanna know
It's happened before
And it'll happen again
If it's hurtin' so bad
Why does it feel so good?
The air stings my eyes
Tell me the name of your poison
When all ............... lies
You gotta make your own true
I wanna know
Yes, I wanna know
Is it really my god?
Is it really my god?
There's too much chunk going through my brain
The .......... is alive
But the conversation's dead
The lyrics in Audioweb's song "God" seem to be expressing a sense of confusion and disillusionment with the world around the singer. The first stanza describes an overwhelming feeling in the singer's mind, as if they have too much information coming in and nothing meaningful to make sense of it all. There is a sense of disappointment and frustration towards the lack of substance in conversations and a longing for something more enlightening. The singer's eyes see beauty and greatness, but they are also aware of the emptiness that surrounds them.
The second stanza explores the paradox of pain and pleasure, questioning why we allow ourselves to be hurt if it feels good in some way. There is a sense of cynicism towards the world and the lies that are told, but also a desire for truth and a recognition that we need to make our own path. The final line of the stanza asks, "is it really my God?", suggesting that the singer is questioning their beliefs and searching for meaning and purpose in their life.
Overall, the lyrics of "God" seem to be questioning the status quo, expressing a desire for deeper connections and meaning in our lives, and grappling with the big existential questions of pain, pleasure, and faith.

I saw AudioWeb live several times at various venues and they never played this live. It was never on there set list. Until they played my local Esquires Bedford, I got chatting to him during the break and pleaded with him to play it as it my favourite track. That was the first and last time they played it live
@debswild869
I always used to ask them too and they once teased me with the intro!
@AndyReeder
Hey. I don't suppose you know the year/date of that Esquires gig? I was there too and I'm trying to pin down how long it was between that and seeing them at the Assembly last week.
