Animal
Aurora Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You are the victim
The victim of my love
I dangle up on rooftops
Before I push you off
I stand at the headlights
Looking for a corner where I can't be found
With a goddess in my right eye
Watching every lover on the battleground

You're hunting for love
Killing for pleasure
Lost in a concrete jungle
If I am alone
Make me a stranger
Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay)

I'm an animal, animal
Hunting for an animal, animal
Hunting for love
Killing for pleasure
Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay)

Isolation makes me hungry
Will you stay here till I sleep?
You'll return home in the morning
But you never really leave
I keep the memories alive
The weight upon my shoulders felt so divine
With a goddess in my right eye
Watching every step I take before I die

You're hunting for love
Killing for pleasure
Lost in a concrete jungle
If I am alone
Make me a stranger
Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay)

I'm an animal, animal
Hunting for an animal, animal
Hunting for love
Killing for pleasure
Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay)

I become an animal, animal
Hunting for an animal, animal

Let me become an animal
Let me become an animal
'Cause when you are an animal
You lose control

You're hunting for love
Killing for pleasure
Lost in a concrete jungle
If I am alone
Make me a stranger
Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay)

I'm an animal, animal
Hunting for an animal, animal
I become an animal, animal
Hunting for an animal, animal
Hunting for love
Killing for pleasure
Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay)

I'm an animal, animal
Hunting for an animal, animal

I become an animal, animal
Hunting for an animal, animal (Ho, ho)

Overall Meaning

The song "Animal" by Aurora speaks of the desperation and confusion that comes with searching for love in a world that can be harsh and unforgiving. The lyrics portray the singer as a predator, hunting for love but also causing harm in the process. She acknowledges that her love can be dangerous, yet she cannot help but continue to pursue it. The use of metaphors creates vivid images of rooftop scenes, concrete jungles, and comparing herself to an animal. The lyrics also convey a sense of isolation and the longing for connection, with the singer asking her lover to stay with her until she falls asleep, but knowing they will eventually leave.

The repeated lyrics "Hunting for an animal, animal, hunting for love, killing for pleasure" reinforces the idea that love can become a primal instinct, like hunting for survival. The song also touches on the idea of losing control, with the line "Cause when you are an animal, you lose control."

In summary, Aurora's "Animal" delves into the complexities and dangers of pursuing love, and how it can drive us to become almost animalistic in our behavior.

Queendom: empatia, sororidade, unidade.
Forgotten Love: superação.
Gentle Earthquakes: prazer sexual, libido.
All Is Soft Inside: depressão, tristeza.
It Happened Quiet: desilusão amorosa (essa música pode ser interpretada de diversas maneiras, há momentos em que acho que na verdade ela fala sobre um estupro e desejo de vingança).
Churchyard: raiva, vingança.
Soft Universe: esperança.
Infections Of A Different Kind: fé.

I freaking love how Aurora can change from a free spirit of the forest to the embodiment of lust in the blink of an eye.
