I started to make melodies that I recognized. There was something special about being able to play just by yourself — something about the emotion in it made me want to continue playing.’ At age nine, when she had a better handle of the English language, she began writing songs. Her first original composition was titled ‘I Had A Dream’, which referred to how hard the world can be. Elyzium
Aurora Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
you're standing in the rain
i want to feel you
hold you and kiss you
i want to kill you
and see you flying high
dream come through
and how can i show you elyzium
(please) follow my dream
for eternity, follow me
i don't know who i am
(who are you?)
through my life i have
crucified heaven and christ
eventhough my god is eternally
my last wish is to - open your flower
make your hunger come through
and reach elyzian fields
from the depth of tranquillity
The lyrics of "Elyzium" by Aurora paint a picture of a person who is deeply in love with someone and willing to do anything for them. The opening line expresses the beauty of the person standing in the rain. The following lines reveal the singer's desire to be closer to the person they love, to kiss them, hold them, and even kill them. The contrast between the desire to be close to the person and the desire to kill them suggests the singer's inner turmoil.
The singer then asks how they can make their beloved's dream come true and show them Elyzium. Elyzium is a reference to Elysian Fields, a place in Greek mythology where heroes and other select individuals could go after death. It was considered a paradise and a place of peace and tranquility. The singer wants to take their beloved there, suggesting that it is a place where they can be happy together forever.
The song then takes a darker turn as the singer questions their own identity and their relationship with God. They reveal that they have "crucified heaven and Christ," even though their God is eternal. The final lines of the song reveal the singer's last wish, which is to open their beloved's flower, make their hunger come through, and lead them to Elyzian fields from the depth of tranquility.
Overall, the lyrics of "Elyzium" are deeply emotional and reveal the singer's struggle with love, desire, and their relationship with God.
