Her first original composition was titled ‘I Had A Dream’, which referred to how hard the world can be. Sadiam
Aurora Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
and you feel like someone
who kissed the snake
ran away hid in the dark
for someone you relied on
who needed to run
for the hidden gun
in someone
then run
when everything is sad
and you don't know
whether you're alive or dead
cast the dies, burn the old wife,
choose life
Aurora's song "Sadiam" is a melancholic piece with deep and meaningful lyrics. The opening lines, "when you feel like someone to rely on and you feel like someone" refer to the overwhelming human desire for companionship, someone with whom we can place our trust and love. But the next line, "who kissed the snake, ran away hid in the dark," hints at the treachery that often comes with opening up to someone. Sometimes people we rely on, those who we think would never hurt us, turn out to be the ones who betray us, just like the snake who bites after being kissed.
The rest of the song talks about the aftermath of such betrayal, where the victim is left feeling lost and unsure, like they're not sure whether they're alive or dead. The line, "cast the dies, burn the old wife, choose life," is a metaphor for choosing to leave the past behind and move on from the person who betrayed us. The term "cast the dies" refers to casting a pair of dice to determine the outcome - in this case, the choice to move on. "Burn the old wife" represents letting go of whatever held us down in the past and choosing to start anew, and finally "choose life" is a call to take control of our own lives and make the decision to move forward towards a new beginning.
