Sleeping Satellite
Aurora Lyrics

And the dream that died
With the eagles' flight
I blame you for the moonlit nights
When I wonder why
Are the seas still dry?
Don't blame this sleeping satellite
Whoah ohh oh yeah yeah
Did we fly to the moon to soon
Did we squander the chance
In the rush of the race
The reason we chase is lost in romance
And still we try
To justify the waste
For a taste of man's greatest adventure
I blame you for the moonlit sky
And the dream that died
With the eagles flight
I blame you for the moonlit nights
When I wonder why
Are the seas still dry?
Don't blame this sleeping satellite
Have we lost what it takes to advance?
Have we peaked too soon
If the world is so green
Then why does it scream under a blue moon
We wonder why
If the earths sacrificed
For the price of it's greatest treasure
I blame you for the moonlit sky
And the dream that died
With the eagles' flight
Blame you for the moonlit nights
When I wonder why
Are the seas still dry?
Don't blame this sleeping satellite
Whoah ohh-oh yeah yeah
Whoah ohh-oh yeah yeah
Don't blame this sleeping satellite
And when we shoot for stars
What a giant step
Have we got what it takes
To carry the weight of this concept
Or pass it by like a shot in the dark
Miss the mark with a sense of adventure
I blame you for the moonlit sky
And the dream that died
With the eagles' flight
Blame you for the moonlit nights
When I wonder why
Are the seas still dry?
Don't blame this sleeping satellite
Whoah ohh-oh yeah yeah

me this sleeping satellite is a song that reflects on the human race's progress and its achievements, but also questions if those achievements have been at the expense of the planet. The lyrics reflect an individual's disappointment in their realization that humans may have advanced too quickly, ignoring the harm they may have caused to the world in the process. The song suggests that people are responsible for the problems that exist today, including environmental degradation and hunger, and those issues cannot be solely attributed to any external forces such as an inactive satellite that is 'sleeping'.
The chorus of the song is repetitive and catchy, which adds to its allure, and the lyrics are open to interpretation. The song seems to contain a message of both hope and despair, and it can be interpreted in different ways by different individuals. One common meaning drawn from the song is that there is no one to blame for the mistakes of the past, and that instead of looking to blame others, we must take responsibility for our actions and try to make things better.

1992 was the first time I heard this song. If you haven’t heard the original, then you need to. It’s a masterpiece. Tasmin Archer is amazing. I like this upbeat version, but nothing beats the original.
