At the time of what many consider their biggest success-- with hits like Make Up Your Mind and Checking You Out-- the group was comprised of Washington, Curt Jones, Starleana Young and Phil Field. The band started off in 1980 signing to Dream Records and then Salsoul Records. A deal with Virgin offshoot Ten Records gave them success with songs such as the 1986 UK singles chart hit You and Me Tonight.

Legal issues over the name Aurra made Curt and Starleana change their name to Deja and with this name they only managed to reach number 75 with the Monte Moir penned single Serious. Starleana Young left the group to go solo, and was replaced by Mysti Day.

This is basically a Slave song...The members of Aurra where in Slave at one point (Starleana, Curt, Steve Washington, and Lockett). On this track, Mark Adams and Steve Arrington are on bass and drums, thus the whole Slave lineup is on here.

if you really are a fan of music and musicians there wouldn't be a question. Mark Adams had a style and sound that was signature. I can tell by the tone and growls that it's Hansolar all day.. R.I.P Mark L. Adams. No one played like him, similar but not the same.

They are a spin-off from Slave,they we're actually their background singers on the track "Just A Touch Of Love" and after that track was made they decide to form a group of their own and that's how Aurra was born so that explains the Slave influence.

This is a great track. It really is. I wonder how long before so one covers this or more likely samples this track. The bass line is fantastic, and it seems as if its done be Mark Adams (From Slave fame!). Wonderful times for lovers of black music at this period of time.

Has that sort of funky futuristic vibe going on with the base line,enough to drive u crazy here,this kinda music is like drugs,it just really gets to you,i can be on the dancefloor dancing the whole night throught to this or even if i hear this song on the street,it may take a tranquilizer and a straight jacket to get me to stop dancing.

There is some confusion on the bassist on this track, it is Mark Adams, It's his only track outside the ones on Slave projects. Steve Washington is a killer bassist as well & played on a lot of tracks but this is classic Mark. R.I.P.

I have the original LP and actually Mark Adams is credited as the bass guitar player. He was also listed as a writer of this song. Steve Washington played trumpet and guitar on this album but did play the bass guitar parts on later Aurra albums. If anyone has the original LP, look it up for yourself. Mark Adams was the bassist on this album. It was recorded just before the Stone Jam album.

Make no mistake...that is definitely MARK"The Hansolor"ADAMS funkin it up on the bass!! His sound was so distinctive that there is no way you could not recognize that growl, snap, fretsliding and punch!! Truly a funk bass legend...Rest In Peace Hansolor!!
