Much of Autechre's music has a strong focus on complex rhythm and driving percussion, and more recently, on meticulous sequencing. Later work has been notably experimental and abstract, in contrast to the more club-friendly and conventional early 1990s releases.

Booth and Brown formed the group in 1987 while they were both living in Rochdale, United Kingdom. They began by making and trading electro and hip-hop mixtapes, but gradually collected some cheap equipment (most notably a Casio SK-1 Sampler) and moved on to their own compositions.

absolutely impressive! I have never seen anything unofficial of that quality. Though, I think ep7 is autechre's weakest release, but the video fits it perfectly! Its style would also work if it was accompanied by a track from draft 7.30, but its perfect the way it is. :)

such an amazing song and video. i can feel a hip hop vibe for sure which i wasnt expecting. starting 0:43 and roughly every 12 seconds is that awsome suction melody. it took a few listens but im going to be listen to this song for a while. as the song goes on it gets more scrambled and dischoherent which was still sick. u really need to take on other perspectives to apprietiate the video and the song to see the different dimensions they worked on. fucken bad ass find today.

I think you'll be surprised just how many artists have actually been influenced by Autechre. It's like how John Cage was doing unusual things in his time, and he didn't really care what others thought. Yet thanks to his little sound sketches he opened new areas in music and other musicians took influence from that. And that's how I feel about Autechre. Alot of their songs I feel are more like 'sketches' of great ideas. Obviously everyone interprets things different but that's how I view it.

This music I love so much. Its really so nice to be at the end of the day alone in your house and put the legs on the table, eat a sandwich drink a hot green tea to it and study and listen idm electronica not matter if its ambient or experimental abstract. my channel is full of idm electronica but i find every day a new interesting idm artist to explore and study.

When I say I consider them "experimental" I don't mean as a genre, I'm speaking in a very literal sense. They are boundary-pushers and forward thinkers, with a really wide scope of musical vision.

a few years ago, i listened to this wanting to like it, but not knowing how to approach it. ive left my days of listening to electronic music and gone back to indie, post rock, post hardcore, emo, and the likes. although, i held onto a few treasures from the electronic music world. a few autechre song titles popped in my head and i came back here. now i see it. this is truly compositionaly fantastic. only negativity i can give is that the compression doesnt seem tight enough on the percussion.

Just try Autechre's first two albums. They are less experimental, more organic in sound. Very easy to appreciate right away, but still artistically rich.

That's exactly what this music is. It's abstract. This was released in 1999 aswell so putting that into perspective this is an impressive song. This EP sits perfectly in Autechre's lifecycle too, as their earlier albums were more ambient techno and each album got more progressively experimental. There comes a point when making music that you end up getting 'bored' so progression is the next logical step, and these boys actually weren't afraid to do it.

You gotta feel it man, this is music beyond simple beats. It's what autechre feels man. I'm not high, but Just appreciative. Try combine video and sound to this caliber and see how difficult it is. It far more then crappy WMP equalizer graphics. I understand a LOT of people simply wont get it. You have to progress through a lot of electronica and IDM to get hit hard by this. take my word for it. this work is genius.

i would say sit back and listen to tri-repetae and untilted all the way through. autechre takes a good amount of patience to listen to, but it's almost always worth it. very worth it:)
