Much of Autechre's music has a strong focus on complex rhythm and driving percussion, and more recently, on meticulous sequencing. Later work has been notably experimental and abstract, in contrast to the more club-friendly and conventional early 1990s releases.
Booth and Brown formed the group in 1987 while they were both living in Rochdale, United Kingdom. They began by making and trading electro and hip-hop mixtapes, but gradually collected some cheap equipment (most notably a Casio SK-1 Sampler) and moved on to their own compositions.

man, i've unintentionally slept on the scene for too long, that would have been sick, i only found this tune by trying to be a dickhead when my friend wanted hard beat saber suggestions

And at the same time the closest they got to a jazz/prog pop record. Gotta love the honky tonk piano melody

still love this one... the rhythm transitions are brilliantly composed, and the melodies feel natural and weird at the same time

Clearly an ode to the Andante of Stravinsky's 5 Easy Pieces for Four Hands

My old BF got this for me for my bday that year when it came out. I remember the frosted CD case. Saw them at Princeton Arts Council in the summer, NJ. Unforgettable.
