Much of Autechre's music has a strong focus on complex rhythm and driving percussion, and more recently, on meticulous sequencing. Later work has been notably experimental and abstract, in contrast to the more club-friendly and conventional early 1990s releases.

Booth and Brown formed the group in 1987 while they were both living in Rochdale, United Kingdom. They began by making and trading electro and hip-hop mixtapes, but gradually collected some cheap equipment (most notably a Casio SK-1 Sampler) and moved on to their own compositions.

It's on the Anvil Vapre EP. as you probably know by now. My first meeting with AE was PUCH from an Australian re;ease only two disc IDM compilation called ELEMENTS. It's a dear thing more in keeping with Incunabula than Tri Repetae.

@HeQruS TEoffDe Well If You like the percussive go for Ganz Graf on the eponymous EP, 2002 and LLC first track on the Untilted LP, 2005. If you like a space groove try all seven versions of Basscadet, original mix on their first album INCUNABULA, which comes as an easy Introl Kalpol to the kaleidoscopic wonder that is the AE Universe. After that it gets more interesting and possibly more difficult, for some. You'll have to break a few hard set musical prejudices and preconceptions to enter the Temple of the Oracle. ><

i think with the way he introduced the interference and hum bars to blur out enough detail of the prosthetics of the alien gives it a bit more realism. although on this version i can see the alien more clearly in some of the shots which probably gives away too much detail, which might be the reason cunningham wasn't too happy about this version.

@HEX Agon Actually, this was his first music video and in an interview he said he wasn't proud of the outcome, Sean Booth and Rob Brown from Autechre were not so happy either. So it actually was on a technical level a practice board for what he did later with Squarepusher, Apex Twin and certainly Bjork. Both are gorgeous works of art in my opinion. Cheers.
