Much of Autechre's music has a strong focus on complex rhythm and driving percussion, and more recently, on meticulous sequencing. Later work has been notably experimental and abstract, in contrast to the more club-friendly and conventional early 1990s releases.
Booth and Brown formed the group in 1987 while they were both living in Rochdale, United Kingdom. They began by making and trading electro and hip-hop mixtapes, but gradually collected some cheap equipment (most notably a Casio SK-1 Sampler) and moved on to their own compositions.

The production on this is genius. They've taken the main focus and placed it behind everything else resulting in cross over effects of the melody. It plays on the assumption of what you think you can hear in places, i love it.

@@lipfunction sorry, the 'main focus' means the hook or riff, it's usually what's most recognised and remembered about a piece of music. In this track the riff is placed behind layers of abstract noises and sounds, resulting in crossover effects that are hard to understand and recognise what you're hearing.
