Tecnócrata-Robots
Autocantantes Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Autocantante's song "Tecnócrata-Robots" paints a picture of a surreal and fantastical world, where the traditional structures of power and governance are dismantled and replaced by absurd and improbable ones. The song seems to be a critique of the political and social system, where the politicians and the elites have lost touch with the people they are supposed to represent. The lyrics are filled with contradictions and ironies, where the left and the right are indistinguishable, and the government ministries act in ways that are the opposite of their intended purpose.

The opening lines reveal a country where the people have lost their voice, and the laws and monarchy have drastically changed. The occupiers now occupy themselves with trivial things. The lines "Se ha dao la vuelta a la tortilla, los leones del congreso se hacen pis al maullar" suggest a reversal of traditional power dynamics, where the congressmen are now mewling like cats, showing their vulnerability and lack of authority.

The middle part of the song describes how the government ministries have changed their roles and are now doing things that are unconventional. The Ministry of Works builds a new republic, and the Association of Immigrants does relevant things. The House of Work gives money to the workers, and the Ministry of Science gives the wise people their wisdom. The lyrics probably point towards the need for change and progress in the political system, where the government should work towards addressing the needs of the people, rather than focusing on self-interest.
