In May 1997, Autumn Tears released their second full-length album, "Love Poems for Dying Children, Act II: The Garden of Crystalline Dreams". Erika left Autumn Tears after the release of "Act II" to pursue writing her novel. New vocalist Jennifer LeeAnna was recruited due to her extensive experience and tremendous talent. The first release of "Act I" was originally supposed to be limited to 2000 copies and sold out quickly, but due to an overwhelming amount of requests it was re-released with a new layout and artwork in 1998. All tracks were remixed and remastered. As a bonus, an additional and exclusive track titled "The Intermission", was also included on the repress, in which Jennifer LeeAnna made her debut appearance.
In December 1999, Erika rejoined Autumn Tears as a full-time member.
In July of 1999, Autumn Tears released a mini-CD titled "Absolution". In June of 2000, The band finished their third full length album and most epic release so far, "Love Poems for Dying Children, Act III: Winter and the Broken Angel".
In 2004, after four years of silence, the band recorded the album "Eclipse", which is described in Autumn Tears' official homepage as "the most epic, conceptual, and fullest neoclassical piece of music they have ever offered. Lush strings, acoustic guitars, and woodwinds accompany soaring orchestral soundscapes, painting the backdrop for a staggering array of vocal performances that range from operatic and classical solos to Baltic choral passages and duets".
In 2007, after a decade evolving, the band has finally shed its shell of neoclassical darkwave and gothic sound, in place of a more traditional classical and chamber music style. Drawing influences from such masters as Bach, Brahms, Hayden, Mahler and a host of others, Autumn Tears boasts rich and diverse musical arrangements based on music theory. In place of the usual keyboards and samples, "The Hallowing" employs fully live, authentic classical instrumentation including a live string section, woodwinds, oboe, french horn and haunting, operatic vocals. The album was originally limited to 1000 copies, but due to very high demand, it sold out within three weeks, and was soon re-released with an improved layout.
Immediately after the release of "The Hallowing", the project has been put on hold.

A Dreaming Kiss
Autumn Tears Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Their touch so deep
Cold, enchanting bliss
The dying dreams, I take unto my love
Her embrace to carry me beyond death
I wish...
A deepening woe, a shadow of life
But jus one kiss, I beg of thee my love
To dry my ever flowing stream of tears
I wish...
Unfortunate is the one who suffers
For there is no comfort in death
Only one single hope...
My love given and not taken without burden
May we love one another freely
Without fear of abandonment
Watch me as I die painlessly
A thousand times
The sweet, sweet agony of my being
Ever am I alone
Sadness... a kiss passionate sorrow
Of a time to come of divine unity
O my love, take us to our ebony meadow
Together we stand
Amidst the moonlit for and snow
I wish...
Beloved darkness, to you I plead
Give but a wakeful moment
Of tragic lust
A kingdom of carnal pleasure
A garden of crystalline dreams
The lyrics of Autumn Tears's song, "A Dreaming Kiss" describe a desire to transcend the bounds of mortal life, to be carried beyond death's embrace by the cold, enchanting bliss of a lover's lips of glass. The singer is haunted by a deepening woe, a shadow of life that hinders their dying dreams, and they beg their love for one kiss to dry their ever-flowing stream of tears. Though death may bring no comfort, the singer sees unity with their beloved as a single hope, a release from the sweet agony of being alone. The kiss they seek is not merely a momentary pleasure, but a tragic lust, a lasting transcendence from the mortal world.
The imagery and language used in the lyrics create a sense of melancholic longing, a desire to transcend the limitations of the physical realm and find solace in the embrace of a loved one. The repetition of the phrase "I wish" reinforces the singer's longing and their awareness of the impossibility of fulfilling their desires. The mention of "lips of glass" and "crystalline dreams" creates an otherworldly atmosphere, adding to the sense that the singer's desires are unattainable in the realm of the living.
Overall, "A Dreaming Kiss" is a complex exploration of the human desire for transcendence and intimacy, using poetic language to create a deeply emotional atmosphere. The themes of love, death, and longing are woven throughout the lyrics, creating a hauntingly beautiful portrait of the human experience.
