I like the way that they jazzed up the song without being disrespectful to it. If it isn't very good , if you dress the best that you have, and people doesn't approve or I SHOULD SAY your not as good as they are??? Or you can't put a fortion in the offering (some churches. Gives the impression that they would rather for you not to be there.) Seen it many times..

That's how you bring people to the church. By having some great singing and music. Not by picketing funerals, or telling people nonstop that they are going to hell, or talking politics. All you need is great music and putting yourself out there.

@olomoney...A Former Professor Of Mine From City College Goes To CTK. He Brought His Wife And Some Members of CTK To My Class One Day And They Sang For Us. I Guess I Was So Used To Singing The "Catholic Way"....That I Forgot That There Really Is No "Catholic Way"...My Ears Opened Up Hearing These Songs Sung From An African-American Perspective...Differences In How We Hear & Sing The Same Songs.......Just Beautiful!

I'm Protestant, but I love how delightfully irreverent film was. The process where Mary Clarence takes over the choir showcases beautifully both the stately beauty of a hymn, and the more fun, free-spirited, wholeheartedness that worship can be, at the same time. Church doesn't have to be boring.

Stupid_Tree same, I’m catholic too but I began to believe less and less into the whole “God created the earth” and/or “Mary was a virgin” I think it still counts though. This song makes me want to change the church system into a much more happier one ^^

@@oreqqhia I don't think you're a catholic if you don't believe in the very basis of Catholic belief. If God didn't create the earth then what do you think God is? Who created it then? It just "appeared"? And if mary wasn't a virgin then are you saying that Jesus is the product of sex? So you don't believe that Jesus is God? In that case my friend you are probably closer to something along the lines of Buddhism or Islam. Not even Christian at this point.

I couldn't agree more... :) As a kid, you're raised in the religious beliefs of your parents... So I was Lutheran and sang in the church choir for over a decade until i became an adult, questioned Life and denounced religion altogether... This song, this movie does exactly what you said... It celebrates Life. It celebrates strength in numbers and a unity towards humanity... I am atheist, and I f@#%ing love this movie and especially this song. Why? Old ladies jamming are so awesome!!!
