The song "Fall Apart" by Avail is a melancholic reflection on a past relationship that ended badly. The singer cannot seem to move on from the relationship though he is well aware that he needs to. The song opens with the singer looking back at a faded memory, unable to be free from the clutches of memories that haunt him. He regrets holding back in the relationship and paying for it dearly. As a result, he started running away from his problems, but even that could not help him escape the pain.
The singer has been hit hard by the break-up, and he does not want to feel this way again. He realizes that he should have let go much earlier than he did.
