In Avant's song "Don't Say No Just Say Yes," the singer is seeking permission from his lover to show him love and affection physically. The song starts with an enthusiastic call and response between the singer and his lover as he encourages her to open herself up to him. He tells her to open her heart, and allow him to pour his love inside of her. The way she lights him up is reminiscent of breathing. He wants to touch her, and he pleads with her not to say no but to say yes and allow him to indulge in her body.
Throughout the song, Avant assures his lover that he understands that she wants him, and he wants her too. He tells her that she is his reason and his season, and he longs to bask in her presence. He acknowledges the passion and intensity that she brings to their relationship, and he wants to reciprocate that energy. The singer encourages his lover to be unafraid, and to trust him with her body. The song is an intimate celebration of their love and their desire for one another.
