RED
Aviators Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It feels like greyscale reality
In this world we've built on our own
It's unclear to me
What we are still trying to be
If I could bring back the peace we had
Would the wars come with it too?
The black lines are holding me
The black lines are holding me

So let's stop living in black and white
One streak of color could change a life
We have the shades of blue in tears
And hues of green for passing years
White lies put hatred in our heads
So we will show them love instead
We'll paint the whole world red
We'll paint the whole world red

Now I can feel time in my veins
Counting down my days
I won't paint them grey with pain
Let's paint our hearts red again
If we can settle the scores between
The good and evil sides
I'll take a step
One more deep breath
I can move past the fear of death
When nothing can hold me anymore

So let's stop living in black and white
One streak of color could change a life
We have the shades of blue in tears
And hues of green for passing years
White lies put hatred in our heads
So we will show them love instead
We'll paint the whole world red
We'll paint the whole world red

We can build a world of a billion shades
We can make a difference and change our place
In the course of time, in the cycle of our lives
We can paint the world with eyes open wide

So let's stop living in black and white
One streak of color could change a life
We have the shades of blue in tears
And hues of green for passing years
White lies put hatred in our heads
So we will show them love instead

We'll paint the whole world red
We'll paint the whole world red

Overall Meaning

The song "Red" by Aviators encourages listeners to strive for a more colorful, positive world in which love and peace prevail. It begins by asserting that the reality we inhabit too often feels drab and monochromatic, with little clarity about our purpose or goals. However, the artist suggests that a single act of kindness or compassion - one "streak of color" - can make a profound difference in someone's life. Tears and time are symbolized by shades of blue and green, while falsehoods that inspire enmity are equated with the harshness of black and white.

As the song progresses, Aviators imagines a world in which grief, anger, and violence can be overcome by empathy and a willingness to reach across the divides that often separate us. One can sense the artist's urgency as he points out how time is constantly ticking away, and how it's up to us to decide how we want to spend it. The stakes are high, but Aviators remains optimistic that even small actions can generate a ripple effect of positive change. Ultimately, by painting the whole world red with love and compassion, we can create something beautiful and lasting.

Don't resist if it's Aviators!

@Spartan War118 Yeah, I didn't even bother resisting the temptation to listen to Song of the Abyss or Incandescent on loop for a week after they were released! Somehow, neither got boring.

Resistance is futile.

Dude I am in love with this song.  It is so...soothing.  So melodic.  If you don't recognize the name, I also go by Zenith (we hung out at Everfree for a bit), and like I said there after your set this song is absolutely amazing.  I wish I could produce something even remotely similar...
