Far Away
Awake The Dreamer Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Some place so far away
Some place so far away

Staring at the view, misguided, aloof
A path not travelled, filled with shattered clues

The records seems clean, but the grass could be greener
Handle the pain, it can only get easier
I've run away, only time can deceive us
And the walls are closing in, but now...

I don't want to know
You left me all alone
Take me far away
Where I can be my own
All I need is some place so far away

Everything I see reminds me of you
I'll reclaim my name, reclaim my place
Since you left me all alone

The records seems clean, but the grass could be greener
Handle the pain, it can only get easier

I don't want to know
You left me all alone
Take me far away
Where I can be my own
All I need is some place so far away

I don't want to know
You left me all alone
Take me far away
Where I can be my own
All I ever need Is some place so far away

You left me all alone
Some place so far away

I don't want to know
I don't want to know
You left me all alone
Take me far away

Where I can be my own
All I need is some place so far away.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Awake The Dreamer's song "Far Away" convey themes of isolation, loneliness, and a desire for escape. The opening lines, "Some place so far away," repeated throughout the song, set the tone for the rest of the lyrics. The singer is staring at a view, feeling misguided and aloof, and reflecting on a path they did not take, one "filled with shattered clues." The grass seems greener on the other side, but the singer knows that pain is inevitable and that time can only deceive. Despite this, they have run away and are looking for some place far away where they can be their own person.

The chorus of the song is particularly poignant, with the line "You left me all alone" repeated several times. The singer's desire to be alone is not necessarily a joyful one, but one borne out of pain and heartache. The repeated plea to be taken "far away" is a cry for help, a yearning to escape from the hurt they feel. The final lines of the chorus, "All I need is some place so far away," convey a deep longing for peace and solitude.

Overall, "Far Away" is a song that touches on deep feelings of isolation and loneliness, while also expressing the hope for a better future. It is a powerful expression of the human desire to escape from pain and find a refuge from the difficulties of life.

It's been some time but I saw them on the same tour and I really enjoyed how well they worked with the fact most had never heard of them and told you what the hook lines were so everyone could enjoy their songs, join in and get hooked.
Didn't just get in, play and leave, cared that people would not just stand around waiting for Ice Nine Kills...I enjoyed their act a lot
