Ayria has been intensively and successfully touring across the globe over the past 3 years gaining a very solid reputation for putting on energetic live performances. Ayria toured the U.S.A as the chosen supporting act for legendary electronic-goth band The Crüxshadows (over 80 shows) and supported Combichrist. Ayria has also toured U.K., Europe, Russia, Mexico and Japan. Not fitting into any one musical category has allowed Ayria to gain a very broad fan base of underground goth, various underground club scenes as well as more mainstream audiences who are all addicted to Ayria’s infectious hooks.
Ayria has released three full length albums on the Belgian label [labelAlfa Matrix, including the highly acclaimed Hearts For Bullets released in September 2008. This release brings 12 hard hitting, tightly written and produced tracks each track uniquely evolving the Ayria sound. Hearts For Bullets was produced in Canada by none other than Sebastian R. Komor. Ayria hits straight and hard with Jennifer’s in-your-face sonic approach hanging between minimal electro, gritty bass synth lines and forceful stomping beats while never straying from the extremely feminine side of the project. Extravagant, provocative, bitchy and edgy yet all gut wrenchingly emotional and lyrically insightful; she hits a target somewhere between influences of Nitzer Ebb, M.I.A., Miss Kittin and Ladytron.
Before Ayria:
Jennifer Parkin is also known for her earlier work in Epsilon Minus, having released two albums as the lead vocalist, before leaving to form Ayria. Jennifer was also featured as a guest vocalist on many other projects, including Implant, Glis, Parallel Project, Aiboforcen and the Mexican project Isis Signum. Ayria has completed remixes and added vocals for bands such as Angelspit and Celldweller.

My Device
Ayria Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I tried my hand at something new
Without you
I'm better off
And on my own
I've fallen countless times but I've realized
I'm better off
Give and take
An eye for an eye
A tooth for a tooth
A sigh for a sigh
A lie for a lie
Without you I'm better off
Without you I'm better off
You were my device
A crutch that sustained me through life
Too crippled to put you aside
I never knew why
An eye for an eye
A bruise for a bruise
Was never enough
To satisfy you
In Ayria's song "My Device," the singer is exploring the idea of independence and moving forward without their previous partner. The singer declares that they're better off without their partner and that they have fallen countless times but have now realized that they are better off on their own. The singer is forgetting the past and the chaos that they had with their partner. They describe it as "Give and take/An eye for an eye/A tooth for a tooth/A sigh for a sigh/A lie for a lie." This line suggests that their relationship was full of conflict and retaliation. The singer has moved on from this kind of relationship and is celebrating their newfound independence without their partner. The chorus echoes this idea by stating that the singer is better off alone.
The second verse reiterates the idea that the singer's partner was a crutch in their life, someone who sustained them through life, but the singer was too crippled to put them aside. The line "An eye for an eye/A bruise for a bruise/Was never enough/To satisfy you" suggests that the singer's partner was never satisfied with the singer's attempts to fix their problems. The chorus once again repeats the idea that the singer is better off without their partner.
Overall, the song emphasizes the idea of moving forward and becoming independent. The singer cuts ties with their previous partner, regardless of how difficult it was, and embraces their newfound freedom. The song highlights the idea that life goes on and that it's possible to be happy without someone else.

14 anos se passaram e eu voltei para escutar essa maravilha, ela canta demais, foi AYRIA que me introduziu às músicas industriais. Thank you so much Ayria for listening to your music, I love industrial and EBM music. Your voice is amazing.

@InvictusMortiss Industrial music isn’t synth-pop. Sure, it may have its influences, but it’s not the same as synth pop.

@InvictusMortiss this is definitely not synth pop
