Composed by sisters Antonia (Toñi) and Encarnación (Encarna) Salazar, the singing duo comes from Badajoz. They are part of a large family of performers: their grandfather was a musician, their father a singer and author, their brothers the members of the group Los Chunguitos and their uncle is famous singer Porrina de Badajoz. The Azucar Moreno sisters began their singing careers as back-up vocalists to their brothers, but in 1982, they were discovered and signed by record label EMI Spain, resulting in two albums with moderate commercial success released in 1984 and 1986. In 1988 they signed with CBS-Epic and relaunched their music with a bolder production style and matching sexier image and released the album Carne De Melocoton. They became one of the first Spanish acts to combine their Romani heritage and traditional cantaora vocal style with urban dance rhythms like disco, r'n'b, funk and techno.

Azucar Moreno's song "Olé" is a tribute to the rich culture and heritage of Spain, particularly the region of Andalusia. The lyrics express a deep love and appreciation for the country and its people, and call upon the listener to experience its beauty and vibrancy through all the senses.
The song opens by calling for the scents and colors of the streets and the flowers of Andalusia, as well as the lively rhythms of its music and the passionate sounds of gypsy flamenco. The chorus repeats the phrase "Olé, olé, olé, olá", which is a typical Spanish exclamation used to express joy, excitement, and approval.
The lyrics go on to mention some of the iconic features of Andalusian culture, such as the delicious fried foods and the crisp white wine known as manzanilla, the colorful and exuberant festivities that take place throughout the year, and the artful mixing of different ethnicities and influences. The song also pays tribute to the brave bullfighters who face off against the fierce bulls in the corrida, a popular spectacle in Spain, and to the religious devotion of the people towards their favorite saints and patron saints.
Overall, "Olé" is a celebration of the unique and diverse heritage of Spain, and of the passion and joy that run through its veins.
