Azul Violeta turns 25 years old. To this end, the group that today is made up of Ugo, Orco, Yuri, Iván, Shaboomy and Mayer, is working concentrated on a series of actions that will materialize in 2014. A concert at the Diana Theater for the celebration of two and a half decades of friendship , inspiration, work and complicity with his followers; the recording of a new cluster of songs in an album that will be released at the beginning of next year, and a documentary in which his intense and productive musical adventure is narrated, are some arguments that confirm that Azul Violeta is a reality with a past, present and above all a lot of future.

El Amar y el Querer
Azul Violeta Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
pero pocos sabemos amar
es que amar y querer no es igual
amar es sufrir querer es gozar.
El que ama pretende servir,
el que ama su vida la da
y el que quiere pretende vivir
y nunca sufrir y nunca sufrir.
El que ama no puede pensar
todo lo da, todo lo da.
El que quiere pretende olvidar
y nunca llorar, nunca llorar
y nunca llorar, nunca llorar
el querer pronto puede acabar
el amor no conoce el final
es que todos sabemos querer
pero pocos sabemos amar.
The lyrics of Azul Violeta's song El Amar y el Querer explore the differences between loving and simply wanting someone. The first stanza sets the stage by stating that while most people know how to want, or have a superficial desire for someone, few actually know how to love, or experience the deeper, often painful emotions associated with love. The second stanza goes on to elaborate on this dichotomy, stating that those who truly love are willing to sacrifice themselves for their loved one whereas those who simply want seek to fulfill their own desires without regard for the other person.
The chorus emphasizes the idea that loving someone is a higher level of emotional commitment than simply wanting them. Love brings endless joy and peace, as represented by "el cielo y la luz" and "total plenitud", whereas wanting someone is just temporary pleasure, represented by "la carne y la flor".
The final stanza brings everything together by repeating the message that loving someone is a selfless act that requires a person to give everything they have, while wanting someone is selfish and often fleeting. The song leaves the listener with the message that while almost everyone can want someone, it takes a rare and special person to truly love.
