(1) Sweden's extreme metal band Azure was formed in 1995 by guitarist/vocalist Robban Kanto. In the beginning the music was heavily influenced by the melodic black/death metal scene but later went on to a more technical approach when Mattias Holmgren (Embracing, Tired Tree, ex. Naglfar) and Peter UvΓ©n (Embracing, April Divine etc) replaced the old rhythm section. The lyrics theme takes place in a fantasy world created by Robban called Hevalia, but in different time periods. The latest album "King Of Stars - Bearer Of Dark" is though a continuation of where the Moonlight Legend album ended.

(2) The German emo band Azure was active in the 1990s. They released a self-titled 7β (Honesty Records, 1995) and split 7" with Cerulean (Crooners Club Records, 1996).

(6) Azure was the original name of Azure Hiptronics, a jazz/funk group based in The Netherlands
(7). Mike Chilton, more better known as Azure, was a trance artist who released the album Planetarium in 2019. Azure was a member of the community of a rhythm game called Dancing Line, where he showcased levels from the game as well as fan-made levels by the Dancing Line community on his YouTube channel. Mike no longer is affiliated with his YouTube channel as it has been transferred to a team of people who are working on a remake of Dancing Line.
