They're seven days below us
There are seven days that keep me feeling grounded, even though they're technically below us in physical space.

That keep me hovered above the ground
Despite feeling grounded by these days, they also keep me floating above the mundane and ordinary.

And nights just blend into the morning
Time passes by quickly and without distinction, blurring the line between night and day.

Definition is the first to go down
As time passes and things blend together, it becomes difficult to maintain clarity and define things precisely.

If I were to stay here between us
If I were to remain in this ambiguous and undefined space between us...

I might forget where I'm bound
...I might lose sight of my goals or direction.

So I can't stay in between us
Therefore, I must move away from this uncertainty...

I guess I'll walk away
...and choose a definite path for myself, even if it means walking away from this in-between state with you.

And here to read the future
I am here, in the present, trying to predict what may come in the future.

But forced to breathe out the past
Yet, I am also weighed down by memories and experiences from the past that I am trying to release.

And too many conversations
There have been too many discussions or arguments that have caused more harm than good...

To uncover what was purposefully lost
...and it's difficult to retrieve things that were deliberately hidden or lost along the way.

And we all look so desperate
Many of us appear anxious or needy in our search for guidance or direction.

Showing the guidance that we lack
Ironically, our outward displays of confidence or assurance may reveal our true lack of direction or purpose.

And we used to be so wistful
In the past, we were filled with longing and nostalgia for what could be.

I guess we feel it's safer holding back
Now, we may be hesitant to take risks or pursue our dreams, opting to play it safe instead.
