Ironically, to ONLY cast white burglars expresses that the producers of the commercials for home security are well aware of this. I think you know that as well, but you have a subconscious belief that it’s inherently racist to even recognize this fact so you thought challenging us on this belief would make us see it that way. Problem is, we don’t see statistics as racist. Stats are a tool. It takes awareness that there is a rate of occurrence for everything and it’s never 0% or 100%. Nothing is ever always done by minorities or never done by minorities. In other words, don’t treat every minority like a potential criminal nor are they a saint. Everyone here knows that, and that applies to all groups of society. It’s nothing more than a matter of societally speaking, where do you focus your efforts when there’s problems with high crime knowing it is disproportionately committed by only certain sects of society. People simply hate when that gets ignored for the sake of feelings yet grocery prices continue to rise due in part to thievery

It's been going on for a long time, it's just getting worse and worse. One of the first one I can remember that no one talks about is Jake from State Farm. The original was a white dude and when that commercial blew up, they replaced him with Jake from State Farm the black dude and pretended nothing happened. The genius of the original Jake was that he was your average 9-to-5 call center guy with perfect monotone delivery of that "Uhhh....khakis?" line. And he wasn't even the lead in the commercial -- the shady husband and distrusting wife talking to him on the phone were. Ironically that made Jake stand out even more because of how he balanced them out.

And he didn't need to be played by a white actor. Leslie David Baker (Stanley Hudson from The Office USA version) would have knocked that role out of the park too.

What makes the new Jake feel less interesting is the fact that he's fresh, cool, youthful, and handsome in a cliche way.

There's already plenty of whites only TV, and I like a lot of content that isn't whites only, take for instance, Family Matters. That was a good show. It's not about the color of the actor, it's about the actor being the best choice for the role. Too much modern stuff is hiring people just because of skin tone, and them being horrible at the job, like the new snow white.
