It's Over
B.b. & Q. Band Lyrics

Fulfilled my missions had my fall
Now I'm just sitting here waiting to die
Feeling like my time has passed me by
Feeling like my time has passed me by
I've climbed the highest mountains
And swam the deepest seas
I've loved and crossed and won and lost
But now I'm ready to rest in peace
All my friends have moved on
All my dreams have turned to dust
As I sit and watch the world go down
Until my final breath of life
These lyrics, from B.b. & Q. Band's song "It's Over," paint a picture of someone who has lived a full and eventful life, but who has reached a point of resignation and acceptance that their time is coming to an end. The opening lines ("I've been through it all, seen it all / Fulfilled my missions, had my fall") suggest a sense of completion, as if the singer has accomplished everything they set out to do in life, but has also experienced significant setbacks.
The next lines ("Now I'm just sitting here waiting to die / Feeling like my time has passed me by") reveal the singer's resigned attitude towards death, as if they have come to terms with the fact that their life is winding down and there's nothing more for them to do. This is reinforced in the repetition of the line "Feeling like my time has passed me by," which emphasizes the sense of futility and helplessness that the singer feels.
The third verse ("I've climbed the highest mountains / And swam the deepest seas") highlights the singer's accomplishments and the adventurous spirit that has driven them throughout their life. However, this is juxtaposed with the following line ("I've loved and lost and won and lost") which suggests that, even though the singer has experienced a lot, they have also endured significant heartbreak and loss.
The final lines of the song ("All my friends have moved on / All my dreams have turned to dust / As I sit and watch the world go down / Until my final breath of life") paint a picture of someone who is alone and reflecting on their life as it comes to a close. The singer's friends have moved on, and their dreams have not been realized. As they sit and "watch the world go down," they face their mortality with acceptance.
Overall, "It's Over" is a poignant and reflective song that captures the sense of finality and resignation that often comes at the end of a long and eventful life.
