From their official website:
BA'AL – five guys kickin’ asses heavy as fuck. Heavy driving hardcore and diabolic melodies meet vocals out of the deepest depths of hell. If you can imagine SEPULTURA (in times of “Arise“ or “Chaos A.D.“) fucking with bands like BOLT THROWER, EIGHTEEN VISIONS and IN FLAMES, BA'AL would be the product...only with a better hair style.
BA'AL started out in the beginning of 2002 in Erfurt/Germany with only one aim: hitting your balls. And that’s what our music is all about. A good thrashing from the first to the last second but no dull e-chord moshing at all.
After the promising self-released CDep “The Babel Concept” (March 2003) - which received many praises in the metal and hardcore press - our first full-length release “The Lilith Complex” (July 2004) on CIRCULATION RECORDS was the consequential advancement of the BA'AL style - mixing 90th heavy metal riffing and catchy melodies with ultra heavy modern grooves.
Many people ask where the name BA'AL comes from. BAAL was the first book written by Bertolt Brecht and it’s purism initially inspired us to use that name as our bandname. Further-more the figure of BA'AL in mythology and history was the icing on the cake that made the choice of that band name perfect.
3)Formed in Sheffield in 2016, blackened post metal quintet Ba'al have built a reputation for intense live experiences in their hometown and a number of festivals across the north.
Founded by Steff (Vocals) and Nick (Guitar), Ba'al shuffled their lineup a number of times before settling on James (Drums), Richard (Bass) and Tom (Guitar) to complete the current incarnation which has seen them perform at a number of high profile events alongside current up-and-comers Conjurer, Calligram and Hundred Year Old Man as well as established Post-Metal front runners, Downfall of Gaia.

Look at Me
BA'AL Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hate your godless TV
Yet need it to fight
Right before your eyes
I just rage against
What brings me to life
Hate your godless radio
Yet need it to fight
Right inside your ears
I just rage against
What brings me to life
Look at me, I fight your everything
Hate your godless web
Yet need it to fight
Right inside your golden cages
I just rage against
What brings me to life
Look at me
Don't take my importance
Look at me
I take it myself
The lyrics of BA'AL's song Look At Me express frustration towards the media and modern lifestyle, while also acknowledging the need for these tools to fight against them. The repetition of "Look at me" suggests a desire for attention and recognition for this fight, as if to say "I see these problems and I am trying to make a difference, pay attention to me". The use of "godless" to describe the TV, radio, and web highlights a belief that these media are lacking in moral values or spirituality.
The lyrics also suggest a sense of rebellion against societal norms and expectations, as the singer is "raging against" what brings them to life. This could be interpreted as a rejection of the superficial and materialistic aspects of modern life in favor of something more meaningful. The repetition of "I need it to fight" emphasizes the importance of these tools in the struggle against these societal issues, while also acknowledging the potential harm they can cause.
