Currently, the orchestra’s conducting team consists of Thierry Fischer (Principal Conductor, since September 2006), Jac van Steen (Principal Guest Conductor), Tadaaki Otaka (Conductor Laureate) and Grant Llewellyn (Associate Guest Conductor). Richard Hickox, following his final concert as Principal Conductor on July 23, 2006, was the orchestra's Conductor Emeritus until his death in November 2008.
As Orchestra-in-Residence at St David's Hall, Cardiff, Wales, the orchestra gives over 20 concerts each year in the Welsh capital, but also performs regularly throughout Wales and beyond, including international tours and annual appearances at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the BBC Proms. Broadcasting work includes studio sessions for BBC radio and television, although the orchestra’s concerts form the bulk of its broadcasts, transmitted primarily on BBC Radio 3 but also on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC television. The orchestra performs a wide repertoire including contemporary music, and the post of Composer in Association is held by Michael Berkeley.

This song literally makes me want to cry every time, even though it has some happy-ish moments. I didn't actually cry all that hard during the scene where this actually took place with the Master- I was more shocked about seeing the Doctor have so much emotion and it broke my heart. Doctor Who is incredible and while I am a new fan, I am so glad I am watching it. Also my brother has started watching it and it is one of the first ways my brother and I have ever connected in his 13 years of life

I love the majesty of this song. You can sense the frustration and pain the Doctor has toward the Time Lords. The sheer reverence he holds for his people, while at the same time still feeling the anger and frustration toward their stubbornness and pride.

1:43 - 2:10 You feel like you are right there flying around gallifrey You can see the vast mountains and feel the fields of deep red grass, capped with snow just brush against you - You can hear the sounds of little timelord children run around in the fields. This is incredible :')

I like the build up for this song. It feels like it starts out peaceful on Gallifrey, then it's plunged into war.

I didn't cry when Ten became Eleven...but I mourn his loss everyday. Ten's episodes were shining and wondrous!
