What the classic Doctor Who lacked in visual effects, it always made up for via sound effects. This was one of my favourite albums when I was a kid. Thank you so much for posting it. 👍🏻

Talking garbage. Yes, while the Sounds are still outstanding today, but the modern Dr Who Monsters and CGI effects are just plain boring and lazy whose only achievements have been latching on to their predecessors' creative work.
Nothing matches the brilliance of John Freilandler and Oscar winning James Acheson from the Classic Series 1972 -76

Ah memories. The first time I remember really getting into Doctor Who was the first appearance of The Sea Devils and the sounds on that story were amazing. Some critics complain that it’s too much and they can’t understand where the music ends and sound effects start, and it’s true, the line gets blurred, but it never bothered anyone on Forbidden Planet!

I borrowed the cassette of this from my local library several times. I can’t understand why the TARDIS take off and landing sounds weren’t included. That is the main sound effect from day one, with just a few variations heard occasionally in the 60s.

I've read that it was left out because the BBC officially classified it as a piece of music, not a sound effect.

Thank you for posting this. I still have it on vinyl but alas I cannot play it! It was a favourite as a child along with the abridged 'Genesis of the Daleks' LP. I see that this is now available on CD.
