The group released their first mixtape All-American Trash in 2016. Their debut album SATURATION was released on June 9, 2017, followed by SATURATION II on August 25 and SATURATION III on December 15, 2017. On March 30, 2018, BROCKHAMPTON announced that they had signed a record deal under RCA Records.
In the summer of 2018, the group parted ways with vocalist Ameer Vann over accusations of sexual misconduct. Their album which was set for release, titled Puppy, was thrown out after the incident. Three tracks from the album were reworked and released over subsequent weeks throughout the summer, including “1999 Wildfire”, “1998 Truman” and “1997 Diana”
On September 21, 2018, the boyband released their fourth studio album, Iridescence, recorded in London's iconic Abbey Road Studios over ten days. It was their major-label debut, as well as their first album since Ameer Vann's departure following sexual misconduct allegations.
The album marked BROCKHAMPTON's first number-one album, as the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart. The album sold 101,000 copies in its first week and was released just weeks before the band embarked on their first tour without ex-member Ameer.
BROCKHAMPTON returned in 2019 which a string of singles, “I Been Born Again”, “If You Pray Right”, “Boy Bye”, and “No Halo”. GINGER is the fifth studio album by American hip-hop collective Brockhampton. It was released on August 23, 2019, through the band's label Question Everything and RCA. It features slowthai, Deb Never, and the band's members.
2020 was the first year since 2016 that they did not officially release a project; instead, Brockhampton began streaming weekly on Twitch and Instagram to DJ and premiere new songs, which would also be posted to and deleted from their YouTube channel regularly. However, none of these songs were officially released on streaming services due to challenges with sample clearance. This era was dubbed "TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES".
In 2021, BROCKHAMPTON returned with their sixth album, Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine, released on April 9th. The singles for the album included “Buzzcut” and “Count On Me”. The album included features from Danny Brown, JPEGMAFIA, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, SoGone SoFlexy, Charlie Wilson and Baird.
On January 14, 2022, the band announced that they would no longer be performing as a group and would go on indefinite hiatus after their 2022 Coachella performances. On April 16, 2022, during the first of said Coachella performances, BROCKHAMPTON announced a final album that would arrive the same year. The title of this album, The Family, was revealed in late October, and the album was released on November 17, 2022. However, the band announced another surprise follow-up album TM that would release the following day, November 18, 2022.

Hair nappy, need a wave cap (yooo)
Same state where Trae at
That's the reason for the mothafuckin' ASAP
That's MOB nigga (naw!)
Why you all dressed up, why your teeth messed up
Why you look so lost, nigga (hellooo)
Don't get it twisted down in the dirty south
Boss, nigga, that one me
Ain't got time, can't no nigga take mine
That shit our shit, lose it? No way (uh, uh, ow!)
I'm over it, I'm over it (ow!)
I'm on and in and out it (ow!)
I'm nauseous, I'm nauseous (ow!)
It hurts to think about it, oww!
I've been riding 'round with my people (uh, dirty south)
And I always put it down for my people (uh, uh, dirty south)
She ain't ever caught them southern feels (uh, dirty south)
But she gon' catch them southern feels
'Cause I get it while it's hot
I get it non-stop as I watch that body rock
Swanging through town, banging through town
Let me slow it down as I get my money right
Got this ice on my wrist, candy painted Lexus
Finna' hit a lick with my squad
Got a muddy cup of the purple stuff
Take a puff, get buck, feel the southern love
Scumbag from the Lone Star state
Come around here
You could be the next nigga on The First 48
Niggas run around with a snub 38
Gotta hold it down and protect your 28's
'Cause since 18
A nigga had a dream of that thang on the spokes
I got my mouth froze, got them thangs on the low
Who the fuck spoke?
Don't mind my southern drawl
Got a pocket full of stones for all of y'all
If he up, then watch him ball
Plot to make these niggas fall, shoot through walls
Take they money and they ki's
And don't come back without it all
Screaming fuck 'em and we ball
I've been riding 'round with my people (uh, dirty south)
Always put it down for my people (uh, dirty south)
She ain't ever caught them southern feels (uh, uh, dirty south)
But she gon' catch them southern feels
'Cause I get it while it's hot
I get it non-stop as I watch that body rock
Swanging through town, banging through town
Let me slow it down as I get my money right
Got this ice on my wrist, candy painted Lexus
Finna' hit a lick with my squad
Got a muddy cup of the purple stuff
Take a puff, get buck, feel the southern love
Sock tan, pack of 'ports, dirty bitch, might double-cup her
Smokin' gas on the porch, guess you could say I'm burnin' rubber
Head is good, so I learn to love her, my dogs talk in numbers
My iPhones got iPhones, so all my friends can talk to me
My flip phone even switch lanes, my bitch got that lipstick
Like candy paint, lick it off, fuck me, then piss me off
Alexis, get my ren' on, Alexis, get my ren' on
Curve me, curve me, bitch don't hit my phone, 'cause
Heard everything's supposed to be different 'round here
Gotta make sense of shit 'round here
It's like everybody wanna hit a lick 'round here
Guess I gotta stop giving shits 'round here
Been looking for a sign or some shit 'round here
Grind hard just to get a fuckin' grip 'round here
We don't sit 'round here, big shit 'round here
You a target if you don't fuckin' fit 'round here
Better charge it to the game, nigga (charge it to the game)
We all going insane, better find a fuckin' lane
Doing digits in a Range, nigga (I ain't even got a car)
No guts, no gain, no pain, no fame
We are not one and the same, nigga
I could change your whole life, we don't need no hype
Just to get shit lit for the night
We could set it off on a fuck nigga on sight
Riding, riding, rolling with my southern niggas
Riding, riding, rolling with my southern niggas
Riding, riding, rolling with my southern niggas
Riding, riding, rolling with my southern niggas

I'm the all-black Johnny Cash
The song "Dirt" by BROCKHAMPTON touches on the theme of southern pride, which is a significant aspect of southern American culture. In the first verse, the rapper describes how "dirty south" individuals such as himself wear their success through their flashy cars, expensive jewelry, and clothes, and they are unapologetic about it. The artist argues that it's not a crime to flaunt our achievements and success as long as we've worked hard to earn them. The southern pride theme continues in the chorus, which features the line, "I've been riding 'round with my people (uh, dirty south)," illustrating how the rapper has loyalty to his southern roots, history, and culture, and he's proud of where he comes from.
Another notable theme in the song is resilience or the drive to succeed despite the obstacles. In the second verse, the rapper describes how, since he was eighteen, he's had a dream about a particular "thang" (car tire rim) design, and he's determined to acquire it. This line symbolizes his unwavering dedication to his goals, and he'd rather spend his time hustling than dwelling on the setbacks. In the chorus, the line, "I get it non-stop as I watch that body rock," represents the rapper's unrelenting drive to make money and live life on his terms.
Overall, "Dirt" is a song about the southern lifestyle, pride, and resilience. The rapper showcases how individuals from the south have a unique approach to life and success, making the most out of it despite the setbacks.
