The band "Blue Touch"toured the clubs,in the north of England ,for some time, with a degree of success. They produced their own single called "winter Love".But musical differences split the band. This lead to the birth of "Bruce and Samantha"...Samantha being Bruce's youngest sister. They achieved success on the "club scene",singing to audiences large and small, all over the country. But Samantha was not really interested in the type of music that Bruce chose for their performances. It was during this period that he started writing his own material.A "sideline"rather than a means to get noticed. For 3 years or so,it seemed that music was going to be the "making"of him. After joining a band called "Rainbow bridge"things began to "take off".The band appeared on the bill with top artists of the day, including "Mud","Showaddywaddy","Darts"and "Shakin stevens"...to name but a few.The audiences ranged from a few hundred in working mens clubs,to several thousand, in venues such as Halifax Civic Theatre and Stockton Fiesta club. After "splitting",Bruce was offered the position to "coach" "Five Star"with their harmony arrangements, but turned this down. This lead to the management company obtaining a court injunction,to stop Bruce from entertaining in public, for several years. He was forced to find other employment. But during all this time,he continued to write his songs. He concentrated on writing lyrics and playing the keyboards,in the hope that one day,he would achieve recognition for his work.Much has happened to Bruce in his life, still through all adversity,he has continued to strive for "perfection"in a "Pop song",whilst continuing to write more personal, deep and meaningful pieces for his own satisfaction.Songs like "I can't stand it anymore,"The walls have ears"with haunting melodies, and effective lyrics, are yet to be transferred from cassette tape to MP3...but,be assured that day is near!
So for now,the selection of songs available, are taken from ideas old and new, with a diversity of styles and genre, which could be classed as great talent,or a loss of direction. In either case, one thing is "for sure"....He won't dream his life away!Down to earth with his feet firmly planted on the ground,he carries on...It seems appropriate, that after all this time,Louise, his elder sister, should sing the songs"dismissed"by Samantha, all those years ago.But I think that secretly,he hopes, one day the two sisters could sing some of them together...Who knows what may happen?
