From an early age, BT demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for playing and understanding classical music. He was heavily influenced by avant-garde and romantic composers such as Stravinsky, Bartok, Debussy and Rachmaninov. His biggest influences, however, were from everyday sounds that most would take for granted, from noticing the meter of the grandfather clock in the foyer to the micro-rhythms of crickets and cicadas to the ambience of passing trains at night.
The drive to actualize the tools BT envisions has led to his evolution as one of the most cutting-edge programmers and technologists in music today. He has expanded this reach into a visionary software venture, Sonik Architects which launched its critically- and commercially-acclaimed iPhone application, Sonifi™.
Brian Transeau is the father of a young daughter, Kaia. He lives and composes his works in his Los Angeles home/studio in which he has a few Apple G5's and 8 AMD dual-core Opteron 64-bit desktops which he uses for his techno-wizardry.
BT has released 8 albums and has scored over a dozen films. His most critically acclaimed album, "This Binary Universe" (released August 29, 2006), was composed in 5.1 surround sound and contains animated videos for each song, presenting a new way of experiencing music.
BT works with multiple computers and the CSound programming language to help craft his work. He also owns a company, Sonik Architects, which develops both VST and VSTi programs which he uses in his own productions.
The Only Constant Is Change

Chaste and burned - we're comfortably loveless
In a trillion years, the stars will no longer shine
We'll remain.
Get it right or come back again
My love
Make it clear, integrate this love and fear
Wounded child seeking wonderful
As closed as I am
Born a craftsman of shifting sands
What lies I learned
Lessened my 'bility to be present
My love will never change
Though we've ruined everything
The stars still conspire for us
Until our final breaths
We need more love in the world
We need more hope in the world
Build more joy in the world
We crave more love
My love will never change
Though we've ruined everything
The stars still conspire for us
Until our final breaths
Until our final breaths
The only constant is change
My love will never change
Though we've ruined everything
The stars
The only constant is change
The lyrics of BT's song "The Only Constant Is Change" touch upon themes of love, hope, change, and acceptance. The opening lines suggest a state of stillness, where the singer and their loved one exist in a state of comfort, but without passion or desire. The subsequent lines provide a broader perspective on existence, suggesting that while the stars that guide humanity will eventually cease to shine, the individuals themselves will remain. The lines "Get it right or come back again, my love" can be interpreted as a plea to make the most of the time they have, to find purpose and passion in life and in love.
The second verse explores the theme of change on a more personal level, as the singer admits to past mistakes and the ways in which they have been scarred by those experiences. The line "Wounded child seeking wonderful" speaks to the idea of a continuing search for happiness and fulfillment despite past hurt. The song acknowledges that the process of growth and change can sometimes be difficult, but that it is ultimately necessary to move forward in life.
The chorus of the song repeats the idea that while everything around us may change, love is constant. The singer urges listeners to embrace more love, hope, and joy in the world, suggesting that these things are necessary to finding contentment and purpose in life. Ultimately, the song seems to suggest that despite the inevitability of change, what makes life worth living is our connection to each other and the world around us.
