No matter how old I get, I will always come back to this song. This song is a comfort to me while I ride the bus to my university after a horrible argument with my father last night. He told me that it was his benevolence that he educated me as if getting an education isn't my human right. He said none of my small achievements are worth it if I can't become the high ranking officer he wants me to be. I was offered a job from a big state institution but my father said it would come in the middle of the dream he has dreamt for me instead. Since a very young age, I have been programmed to be that goody-two-shoes Straight A, high achieving child and maybe cause my father has never known a problematic child, he creates problems out of thin air. I felt my whole reality collapse around me hearing all his words. He has never once thought I had any real talent of my own. My family keeps saying everything I've achieved, all the big small medals and trophies were just mistakenly given to me bcoz no one else was good enough to compete with an average student like myself. My family even said that the judges get seduced by my looks and bcoz I'm a woman they hand out trophies and medals to me bcoz how could I possibly have any real potential of my own... I feel so heart broken. This song says the things I wish to say. I wanna feel more independent and being able to make my own decisions. All my worth is relying on me being able to achieve that one profession my father has picked out for me. I don't even like it tbh. There is so much more I could have done if my family believed I was actually a hardworking and talented student.

I remember listening to this song a lot but I didn’t know the lyrics and so one day I turned my tv on and played this to look at the lyrics. It was night and I was sitting on the carpet looking up at the screen and I remember the feeling he gave me with his lyrics. It wasn’t pain or sadness but relief. When I first read the lyrics to this song I broke down in tears, and now I can't listen to it without shedding a few. I may not suffer from depression, but from time to time I do have those sad, upsetting, terrible days where I feel like shit. Those shitty days caused by me trapped in my own negative thoughts, telling myself that what I'm doing now isn't enough, it isn't enough for me to be proud of myself. I take the person looking down on the other, as myself waiting for me to screw up. Yoongi yelling those harsh words of encouragement are helping me, and I respect that. My ultimate goal in life is to "become someone I'm proud of". Even if others already feel that for me, I never felt it for myself. So one day I really hope it happens.

It was about 4.5 years ago that I started listening to BTS and this was actually one of the first songs from them that I heard. It was a really difficult period in my life, I was feeling so unsure about everything and from a point onwards, I started hating myself. This song has helped me a lot since then. this song helped me a lot when i was taking one of my last exams last year... i've studied but i knew that i'd probably fail and was stressing so much over it but these words "if you feel like you're going to crash, accelerate more" "we're too young to give up" "nevermind" gave me hope and comfort in a time i really needed it... i did fail, but i managed to not get too depressed over it and i just took the exam again and passed :) so even when you know you're going to fail, just... fail, and then get up and try again... i know it's a message you hear often but hearing it from yoongi in this inspiring song the message really got through to me

+Hobi's Snakeu definitely. he's been working on the mixtape for literally years, just because he wanted it to be perfect. you can also clearly see on variety shows or stuff like that, when he says somethinf but is ignored, he just stays quiet for the rest of the time. I hope Yoongi knows how much he moves and motivates people and how he himself is an inspiration. His mixtape too, just think about it, he had depression and anxiety since pre-debut but this didn't stop him from following his dreams. He is from the most people that I love in this world(and the other members too) and seeing him happy or joyful makes me the happiest. He went through too much in addition to his depression but he kept fighting and knew that the morning would come one day even if he'd have to fight forever. He's so brave and respect&love-worthy. I'm an OT7 but I respect Yoongi in a special way
