Alexander Bard, whose previous music projects had included Army of Lovers, Vacuum and Alcazar, started work on a new project during 2003, working with the record producer Anders Hansson who became the band's co-producer. They auditioned over 35 different vocalists before meeting former Popstars contestant Martin Rolinski who was duly chosen as lead singer. Marina Schiptjenko, an art-dealer and a one-time member of Vacuum, then came on board as the third member of what became Bodies Without Organs [2].
There was initially a suggestion that the band would be a four-piece including Jean-Pierre Barda from Army of Lovers, but this did not come to fruition, and Barda's explicit involvement extended as co-writing the songs "Living In A Fantasy" [2] (BWO's first single) and "European Psycho", both included on BWO's first album "Prototype" (It's odd that a picture of Barda turned up in the inner booklet of this album), and appearing on the videos "Conquering America", "Sixteen Tons of Hardware", "Open Door" and "The Bells of Freedom", in which Dominika Peczynski, also from Army of Lovers did make a cameo too.
The name of the band derives from the philosophical term body without organs, developed by French philosopher Gilles Deleuze and psychoanalyst Félix Guattari in their 1972 book Anti-Œdipus. Bard, an author and lecturer of philosophy, has referred to the ideas of Deleuze in his books Netocracy - The New Power Elite And Life After Capitalism and The Global Empire, both co-written with Jan Söderqvist.
At no point has BWO been a full-time project for any of the band's members - Bard continues his other career, notable in its own right, as a philosopher, while Schiptjenko remains an art dealer in Stockholm and Rolinski has a Master of Science in Engineering and works in that field.
Alexander Bard launched his new project Gravitonas in april 2010. Their first single "Kites" is launched in 15 versions on April 28th
Martin Rolinski will go solo also in 2010.
Burning Down The House

Facts about the stars amassing
Stormed my station through the cosmic weather
Burning down the house
Now I'm grounded in my rocket
Pull the sonic to the socket
Let's go party dressed in tar and feathers
Burning down the house
Take me higher set the fire
Take me higher tie the wire
Take me higher set the fire
Burning down the house
I just want to rock the planet
Dancing like a man of granite
Let's go party like there's no tomorrow
Burning down the house
We have been exotic places
Traveled to the end of spaces
Done our little bit of quantum jumping
Burning down the house
You have seen me play Darth Vader
Acting like a space crusader
Let's go party while the base is pumping
Burning down the house
Take me higher set the fire
Take me higher tie the wire
Take me higher set the fire
Burning down the house
I just want to rock the planet
Dancing like a man of granite
Let's go party like there's no tomorrow
Burning down the house
I just want to rock the planet
Dancing like a man of granite
Let's go party like there's no tomorrow
Burning down the house
Once I was the one and only
But life in space can be so lonely
Dragged along into a long forever
Burning down the house
Some day when my trip's completed
I will have those thoughts depleted
Only memories of our nights together
Burning down the house
Take me higher set the fire
Take me higher tie the wire
Take me higher set the fire
Burning down the house
I just want to rock the planet
Dancing like a man of granite
Let's go party like there's no tomorrow
Burning down the house
The lyrics of BWO's song "Burning Down The House" speak of a space adventure, with the singer taking the listener on a journey through the cosmos. The first few lines hint at his knowledge and fascination with the stars, having "seen the light years passing" and "facts about the stars amassing". The imagery of storming through "cosmic weather" and "burning down the house" suggest a reckless, adventurous spirit. The singer is "grounded in [his] rocket" and urges the listener to follow him as they "go party dressed in tar and feathers". The repetition of the line "take me higher set the fire" gives a sense of urgency and intensity to the song, with the singer longing to rock the planet and dance like a "man of granite".
As the song progresses, the singer speaks of having been to "exotic places" and "the end of spaces", and having "done [their] little bit of quantum jumping". He refers to himself as "Darth Vader" and acts like a "space crusader", suggesting a playful stance towards his space exploration. The chorus repeats, urging the listener to take the singer higher, tie the wire, and burn down the house. The final verse takes a reflective turn, with the singer acknowledging the loneliness of life in space, but hoping for fond memories of "nights together burning down the house" to hold onto.
Overall, the lyrics of BWO's "Burning Down The House" combine imagery of adventure, exploration, and reckless abandon, with a playful and reflective stance towards space travel.
