I carry the weight, carry the weight of it all
I make believe I can sing
You make it harder to fall
I make believe it's a dream
I carry the weight of the world and hope it never will end
I hope it never will end
I hope it never will end
Well alright, I'm okay
I said it before, I said everything I can say
I'll make I can sing
You make it harder to fall
I make believe it's a dream
I carry the weight of the world and hope it never will end
I hope it never will end
I hope it never will end
Well alright, I'm okay
I carry the weight, carry the weight of it all
I make believe I can sing
You make it harder to fall
Make believe it's a dream
I carry the weight of the world and hope it never will end
I hope it never will end
I hope it never will end
The lyrics in Baboon's "Alright" focuses on the theme of hope and perseverance. The repeated phrase "Well alright, I'm okay" serves as a mantra, allowing the singer to keep going despite the weight of the world on their shoulders. The reference to carrying the weight of everything and making believe that they can sing may be interpreted as a metaphor for the burdens and pressures that they feel exist on their shoulders. However, the person they refer to in the lyrics makes it harder to fall, implying the existence of some sort of support system, which makes it easier to carry the weight of the world.
The lyrics emphasize the power of dreaming and the hope they possess for never-ending hope. The hope for the continuation of good times, entrenched in the words "I hope it never will end," echoes the resiliency of the human spirit that inevitably bounces back despite the lows. The choruses support this theme of hope and perseverance which inspires listeners to find the strength to face their hardships head-on.
