Read Full Bio ↴Baby in Vain is a Danish trio formed in 2010 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Taken from their facebook page:
"Being but 16-19 years of age, the three girls have impressively fast found their own place in a genre most often dominated by middleaged men.
They play an updated 2012 version of 90′ies stoner rock and grunge, with heavy guitar riffs and screeching vocals, and draw inspiration from bands such as Kyuss and Mudhoney.
It is filthy rock with dirty guitar riffs, complex and detailrich compositions, earcatching hooks, and callback vocals, with the lyric universe drawing references from old films."
Low Life
Baby In Vain Lyrics

Make no life seem like your whole life
You take it too far
This life's just a thought
Hey, little sunshine
Keep coming my way
Preoccupy my mind
You know what you know - you know what you know
How to get around this shattered life in your bone
Take all that you need
Leave nothing behind
Make sure you're the only one that knows
Hey little sunshine
Keep coming my way
Preoccupy my mind
Like honey you taste
Hey little sunshine
You've made it this far
Preoccupy my mind
Now you're just a thought
Take all that you need
Leave nothing behind
My heart torn to pieces,
And this fragile mind running out of time
I've been falling apart - falling through the dark
You know
what you know - you know what you know
How to survive in this low life, low life
The lyrics of Baby In Vain's song, Low Life, suggest a feeling of being hunted or pursued by a low-life character. The song describes this character as someone who takes their low-life behavior too far, yet manages to make it seem like their entire life. The lyrics imply that this lingering presence preoccupies the singer's mind and makes it difficult for them to move on from the situation.
The song's repetition of the phrase "Hey little sunshine keep coming my way" contradicts the negative image of this pursuing character, making it seem like they are desirable in some way. The lyrics also suggest a sense of powerlessness and submission to this character, as they seem to have the ability to uplift the singer's mood ("Preoccupy my mind, like honey you taste"). The lines "You know what you know - you know what you know, how to survive in this low life, low life" suggest that the singer may have some sort of admiration for this character's ability to navigate through a difficult and dark world.
Overall, Baby In Vain's Low Life creates a contrasting dynamic between the negative low-life character and their alluring presence to the singer. The lyrics explore themes such as temptation, powerlessness, and admiration amidst a difficult situation.
