Hometown Hero
Babylon Bombs Lyrics

Dressing outrageous and acting real cool
We lived our life like our
Heroes with no rules
Me and Andy had these cool guitars
Always playing and acting like stars
Light a smoke and heading down the bars,
Oh Yeah
I guess that's just the way that it goes
You always said that I'm an out of date zero
I guess I'm not cut out, I guess it shows
That's how it was that's how it is today
I couldn't have done it in any other way
If you try to change you'll
Just end up astray
No regrets, there's no need to cry
Break down the walls, that's me in the sky
I won't give in at least not until I've tried,
Oh yeah
I'll never be your hometown hero
I guess that's just the way that it goes
You always said that I'm an out of date zero
I guess I'm not cut out I guess it shows
The lyrics to "Hometown Hero" by Babylon Bombs talks about the nostalgia of the past, particularly during their school days where they dressed outrageously and acted cool. They lived their lives like their heroes with no rules. The song speaks about the lead singer's friendship with Andy, where they both played guitar and always acted like stars. They would light up a smoke and head down the bars, which further emphasizes their rebellious nature.
However, despite their love for living life their way, they still face judgment from people who consider them out of date zeroes. The lead singer acknowledges that he will never be a hometown hero but that's just the way it goes. He is not cut out for conformity, and that's what sets him apart. The song is a tribute to individuality and not trying to fit into the mold that society creates for us.
Overall, "Hometown Hero" is a nostalgic and defiant anthem that encourages us to break down walls, be ourselves, and not give in to societal expectations.
