The band started when James Roche heard Doko singing at a pub in Melbourne. Many of their songs are depictions of life as a young single female, though ironically the lyrics are penned by Roche.
They won ARIA Awards in 1998 and 1999.
The band split after the release of their scond album proved less than successful. Tania is now trying to resurrect her career with a new band whilst James has gone into music production.

Rollercoaster
Bachelor Girl Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To cure this vertigo
My brain keeps turning over
Like something you know
The ups and downs
The screams as I spin to the ground
Maybe you might be my roller coaster
Maybe I''ll ride for a while
Maybe it's time my turn's almost over
It's way too high, but hey, I'll try
Been thinking about the landing
Been thinking way too much
Feels lucky I''m still standing here
But I've run out of luck
Whisper goodbye
As I'm holding on for my life
[Chorus]
The Bachelor Girl's song "Rollercoaster" is about the ups and downs of a tumultuous relationship, comparing it to a thrilling yet terrifying ride on a rollercoaster. The singer is experiencing a sense of vertigo or disorientation in the relationship, feeling like her brain is constantly turning over. She considers calling a doctor to cure her vertigo, but ultimately decides to ride the rollercoaster of the relationship, even though it's way too high and scary.
The chorus of the song repeats the idea of the rollercoaster being a metaphor for the relationship, with the singer wondering if the person she's with might be her "roller coaster." She's willing to ride for a while, even though her turn is almost over. The second verse reflects on the fear of the relationship ending, thinking about the landing and how lucky she is to still be standing. But the fear of the unknown future is still there, whispered goodbye as she holds on for her life.
Overall, the lyrics in "Rollercoaster" are a powerful metaphor for the emotional highs and lows of a relationship. The song expresses a sense of fear and uncertainty, yet also a willingness to stay on the ride and see where it takes you.
