Richardson permanently rejoined the group in 2012. In the following year, they celebrated their 20th anniversary and released their first independent album, In a World Like This. Their follow-up album DNA (2019) debuted at number one, more than two decades after the group formed and 19 years after they last topped in 2000. They also became the first boy band to top the U.S. album charts in three different decades.
The Backstreet Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band of all time, and one of the world's best-selling music artists. They are the first group since Led Zeppelin to have their first ten albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and the only boy band to do so. The albums Backstreet Boys and Millennium were both certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), making them one of the few bands to have multiple diamond albums.
The group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 22, 2013.[ They also released their first documentary movie, titled Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of in January 2015. In March 2017, the group began a residency in Las Vegas that lasted two years, titled Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life. They released their first Christmas album, A Very Backstreet Christmas in 2022.

Quit Playing Games
Backstreet Boys Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Even in my heart I see
You're not bein' true to me
Deep within my soul I feel
Nothing's like it used to be
Sometimes I wish I could turn back time
But I wish I could so bad, baby
Quit playin' games with my heart
Quit playin' games with my heart
Before you tear us apart (my heart)
Quit playin' games with my heart
I should've known from the start
You know you got to stop (from my heart)
You're tearing us apart (my heart)
Quit playin' games with my heart
I live my life the way
To keep you comin' back to me
Everything I do is for you
So what is it that you can't see?
Sometimes I wish I could turn back time
Impossible as it may seem
But I wish I could so bad, baby
You better quit playin' games with my heart
Quit playin' games with my heart
Before you tear us apart (my heart)
Quit playin' games with my heart
I should've known from the start
You know you got to stop (from my heart)
You're tearing us apart (my heart)
Quit playin' games
Baby, baby the love that we had was so strong
Don't leave me hangin' here forever
Oh baby, baby this is not right
Let's stop this tonight
Baby, oh, quit playin' games
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, baby
Na, na, na, na, na-ah
Sometimes I wish I could
Turn back time, impossible as it may seem
But I wish I could so bad, baby
Quit playin' games with my heart
Quit playin' games with my heart
Before you tear us apart (my heart)
Quit playin' games with my heart
I should've known from the start
You know you got to stop (from my heart)
You're tearing us apart (my heart)
Quit playin' games with my heart
Quit playin' games with my heart
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, baby
Na, na, na, na, na-ah
Quit playin' games with my heart
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na (with my heart)
Na, na, na, na, na, baby (my heart)
My heart
The lyrics to "Quit Playing Games" by Backstreet Boys talks about a relationship that has lost its spark. The singer sings about how they feel like their partner is not being truthful with them, and they feel the distance growing between them. The singer even wishes they could turn back time to save their relationship, but ultimately they plead with their partner to stop playing games with their heart before they tear them apart.
The song is a classic example of a boy band ballad from the late '90s, but it also speaks to the universal experience of feeling neglected in a relationship. In the context of the Backstreet Boys' persona, the song was a way to showcase their romantic side and appeal to their predominantly female audience. The catchy chorus and emotive vocals made it an instant hit.
Interestingly, the song was co-written by Max Martin, who is responsible for many of the biggest pop hits of the past few decades, including songs by Britney Spears and Taylor Swift. Additionally, the song was released as the fourth single off the Backstreet Boys' self-titled debut album in 1996 and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100.

hahaa... I wish....
Strange as it may seem when our mind hears the sounds of music can suddenly change our feelings in an instant into another dimension taking us to another place back in time then touches our heart making the memories come alive just once more amazing as it all seems lost for words only thoughts to linger with us until we leave this world ...
Good memories for sure...
I cried listening to this on the bus I was literally overwhelmed with emotions. Such a feel-good nostalgic vibe. Such a freaking nostalgia attack.... that hearing this after all of these years.
It gives me so many shivers... Just imagine yourself driving a car on a motorway at orangy sunset remembering your childhood and good music... Loneliness...
I guess I'm the only Sri Lankan who listens to the song right now.. Bit strange tho. Love from "lockdown" London. Be kind... xx

What a unique, original take on an otherwise very confusing song lyric.

@@jamesbrincefield9879 good comment, but i think it's only confusing for those lucky to never have been in a toxic relationship, otherwise at least to me the song makes perfect sense. All the best!
