I am not afraid to stand up to those who oppose me while I am pursuing my passion (making music)

The pain that I've done compared to the pain I've undone
I am aware of the hurt I may have caused compared to the healing and progress I have made

It's weighing a ton, it's heavy, I don't wait for no one
My past and present struggles are a heavy burden, but I won't wait for anyone else to lighten the load

The Lord has put in my spirit
I believe in divine guidance and inspiration

And really all the way back in the last year
The idea has been with me for a while

It took me a year of working on this material
I spent a year refining my thoughts and ideas for this project (the song Redemption)

Studying it, and researching it
I put in the time to understand and develop my message cohesively

I studied it from a medical perspective
I approached the topic of forgiveness from a scientific angle

That when we don't forgive
I believe there are negative consequences to holding onto grudges

We pay a toll in our bodies
The emotional burden of unforgiveness can manifest physically

Our physical health, our well being goes down
Our physical, emotional, and spiritual health all suffer as a result of not forgiving

Insomnia, eating disorders, stress, indigestion
Examples of physical and emotional symptoms that can arise from unforgiveness

A lot of things that you haven't been able to get prayer for
Some consequences of unforgiveness require more than just prayer to overcome

Haven't been able to get breakthroughs through medicine
Some of these issues cannot be resolved with medicine alone

It's when you release people that you have unforgiveness against
The key to healing is releasing the anger and bitterness towards those who have wronged you

And guilt, even if it's against yourself
Forgiveness also includes letting go of guilt and self-blame

Some of you have trouble forgiving yourself
Some may find it difficult to forgive themselves for past mistakes

When you release all of that
When you let go of unforgiveness, guilt, and bitterness

It opens up medical consequences, it opens up emotional consequences
Letting go of these negative emotions can lead to positive physical and emotional outcomes

You have peace and joy and deliverance and greater still
By releasing these negative emotions you can experience peace, joy, and freedom from the past

It releases supernatural blessings in your life
The positive effects of forgiveness can bring about seemingly miraculous outcomes

This topic is explored more extensively in a book or other resource

We know we're supposed to do it
We all have the understanding that forgiveness is important

We want to do it
We have the desire to be able to forgive, but it's not always easy

But, but what do you do when your feelings about an issue won't go away?
Even with the understanding and desire to forgive, it can be difficult to let go of negative emotions that linger
