Fired Up
Bad Boy Joe Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You got me fired up, fired up
You got me so
You got me fired up, fired up
You got me so
You got me fired up, fired up
You got me so

When i see you, make me lose all control
Like a fire burning deep in my soul, yeah
And when i feel you it feels like i'm in heaven
It goes on forever like a dime on a roll
And when i hear you calling it's like heaven
I'll wait here forever till i'm out of the cold, yeah
And when i hear you calling i'm in heaven
We'll be there together, no i won't be alone

You got me fired up, fired up
You got me so
You got me fired up, fired up
You got me so
You got me fired up, fired up

You got me so
You got me fired up, fired

Overall Meaning

Upbeat, energetic and romantic in nature, "Fired Up" by Bad Boy Joe is a song about feeling intense passion and uncontrollable emotions when around a certain someone. The repeated lyrics "You got me fired up, fired up, you got me so" express the overwhelming feelings that the artist is experiencing when with this person. It is clear that the artist is deeply and intensely affected by this person, using the metaphor of a fire burning deep in their soul to illustrate the depth of their emotions.

Continuing with the metaphor of heaven, the artist expresses that feeling the presence of the person is like being in heaven, and that being with them feels like it could go on forever. The artist is so deeply affected by this person that even hearing them call out to them fills them with joy, and they are willing to wait forever to be with them. This song is therefore a celebration of intense passion and desire, and the powerful emotions that can accompany it.

Bobby is a king of purposely walking into a joke at his own expense to carry anybody or any joke. What a national treasure this man is

Zach

He really is good at setting others up for a good joke. I like to think Iโ€™m alright at doing it, too, but Iโ€™d be an amateur to Bobby Leeโ€™s mastery of it. Itโ€™s too bad he isnโ€™t recognized for his talent more, because he has some real staying power compared to the rest of the MAD TV cast. Most do something completely different, but Bobby is still in the game & doing quite well for himself. Sure, some other MAD TV alums are successful, but in other fields of entertainment (voice acting, directing, and thatโ€™s about it).

Paximus

It shows how good of a comedian he is

Hugh Jass

He gets off on self deprecation. Most people of his stature are like that
